1987 (#3) - The discovery about Nikki's health condition and concerns

Months after the day Casey discovered Nikki's illness, the woman still knows nothing about her condition. In fact, Victor, who keeps in constant contact with Casey, absolutely does not want his wife to know the truth, and so Casey is forced to administer the drugs to Nikki in secret, passing them off as vitamins. Soon, however, the secret comes out and Nikki finds out the whole truth when she went to the pharmacy herself to buy her vitamins which, she discovers, are nothing but powerful antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. Nikki, to see things more clearly, goes to Casey's office, absent since she went out of town for an important medical conference, and, with an excuse, starts searching through her papers until she finds her medical records. Nikki is shocked to learn that she has been seriously ill for a long time and, enraged, waits for her sister to return. Nikki then asks Casey for explanations, so she can finally vent and express all of her pain. Nikki blames her for having lied to her all this time, but Casey protests defending herself as she is only trying to protect her by relieving her pain and overburdening her. Casey also confesses that Victor knows all about the disease and he is the one who wanted to keep it a secret. Upset and convinced that she no longer has much time to live, Nikki's most immediate concern at this point becomes finding a suitable substitute to raise Victoria and stay with Victor at this time when she will have to undergo more demanding treatment and, above all, after she is probably gone. Casey assures Nikki that she will be treated with the best possible medication and the way she wants, but now Nikki seems to be resigned to death and is only interested in finding a mother for Victoria and a companion for Victor. The first candidate is obviously Casey, persuaded by her sister to change her hairstyle to one that looks like her. But when Victor, talking to Nikki, says that Casey could be the perfect companion for Matthew, who has confessed to him that he is interested in the woman, Nikki understands how Victor has no interest in Casey. Nikki thus decides to turn her attention to the second candidate, Julia, Victor's first wife. Recalled back to the city from Paris, however, Julia shows no interest in returning with Victor as she is now fully committed to her marriage to Charles, suggesting to Nikki, in agreement with Casey, to consider the most logical choice of all: Ashley. In the words of the two women, Nikki has a vision, and understands how there was a flirt between Victor and the woman that began with the discovery of the woman. Enraged with Ashley, but aware that she is the only substitute capable of making Victor happy, a desperate Nikki, having received confirmation from doctors that her illness shows no signs of improvement, promises to herself to find the woman and reunite her with her husband.

1986 (#3) - The marriage between Charles and Julia in Illinois and Martin Design

Jamie's birth unexpectedly brought up feelings between Julia and Charlie. Charlie confesses that in all his years of service to Victor and Julia, feelings for the woman have matured over time and have remained hidden until now mainly out of respect and loyalty to Victor. Feelings that now, however, when he feels that Julia needs a figure next to her, he has decided to bring out. Julia is moved by Charlie's confession, and only now realizes that she has always ignored him from this point of view. Suddenly Julia discovers that behind the calm figure of a faithful butler lies a man with pure and sincere feelings; a great love soon breaks out between the two of them, so much so that she immediately plans the wedding to build a family around little Jamie. Douglas and Victor are happy for Jamie's birth and for Julia's newfound happiness with Charlie. Both men congratulate Charlie on his upcoming marriage, but are surprised when he announces that he and Julia, with little Jamie, have decided to leave Genoa City forever and go live with Charlie's family in Illinois. So the couple soon say goodbye to everyone and leave with suitcases full of dreams for Lake Forest, where they move and start their apartment interior design business, called Martin Design. 1985 (#27) - The breakup of Alan and Julia, the birth of Jamie, the flirt with Charles

Despite Victor's opposition to the relationship, things seem to be going well between Alan and Julia. The man, to the delight of Douglas and Nikki, seems to be intent on settling down in the city and starting a serious and mature relationship with Julia, also taking on the burden and commitment of being the father of the child she is carrying. When Alan is once again confronted with Victor, ready to intimidate him for the umpteenth time to leave Julia alone, a fight starts between the two of them that is only sedated thanks to the intervention of Douglas. Realizing that the situation is really degenerating, even on Douglas' advice, Victor finally decides to step aside, stating that he will no longer hinder, although he will continue not to accept, the relationship. After a few weeks, however, it is a surprise to Alan himself to leave Julia, having understood that for her, after all, Victor will always be considered the man of her life and anyone else would be just a fallback. So Alan decides to go back to Scotland and forget Julia, just when she starts going into labour. Finding herself alone in the house, it was Victor's trusted butler, Charlie, who rushed to help Julia deliver her daughter, Jamie. Charlie and Julia, thus, find themselves united by this unique and moving experience. Taken by emotion, the two surprise kisses, a prelude to an unexpected relationship.

1985 (#23) - Alan's arrival from Scotland and Victor's intrigues with Julia

Resigned in not being able to be with Julia, Douglas is nevertheless determined to support her and not leave her alone during this delicate period of her life. Julia, on the other hand, is grateful for the presence of the man, and thanks him several times: fortunately, their friendship has remained intact despite everything and despite the fact that it is not easy for the man to be close to his best friend's ex-wife. Douglas, meanwhile, receives a phone call from Scotland from his son Alan Austin, who informs him that he will soon come to Genoa City for work reasons. As soon as he arrives in the city, Douglas is convinced that he might be the right man for Julia and so he introduces him to the woman, although Victor repeatedly advises against it. Julia is favourably impressed by Alan's gentle and charming manner and the two of them soon begin to see each other. A bit surprisingly, however, Victor is not very happy about it, and he doesn't like the man at all, who is considered to be exclusively a manipulative, fake and with second aims. It is Douglas who tries to dampen his friend Victor, explaining to him the genuineness and goodness of his son, who he thinks is perfect for Julia. Victor, however, by being somewhat jealous, tries to prevent the two of them from seeing each other in any way. That there is bad blood between Alan and Victor is also noticed by Julia, who is annoyed and asks Victor to think about his life and his wife Nikki, who is not enthusiastic about her husband's meddling in his ex-wife's life. Victor defends himself by claiming to be only protective of a dear friend like Julia, despite the fact that she repeatedly makes it clear that she does not appreciate him.

1985 (#17) - Boobsie's wedding, Julia's pregnancy and Douglas' offer

After a few months of engagement, Douglas and the young and provocative Boobsie are closer than ever. Douglas' attraction to the stripper is very strong and, on the other hand, Boobsie realizes that she feels a great affection for the man, convinced that he can give him the assurances she has never had during her life: finally a man loves her for what she is and not only for her beauty. Boobsie, in fact, lets go of the idea of a comfortable life and accepts Douglas' proposal of marriage, who soon marries the woman. In the meantime, Julia and Eric decide to break off their relationship, realizing that they don't have much in common and that they don't have feelings for each other; so Eric decides to leave Genoa City to return to Paris and resume his life as a painter. A few days after Eric's departure, however, Julia realizes that she is pregnant with the man; not knowing what to do, and not wanting to turn to either Eric or Victor, now happily married to Nikki, the woman finds herself unexpectedly opening up to Douglas. The two soon become friends, and they get close to the point of spending a lot of time together. The man thus realizes that he is unable to maintain a stable relationship with Boobsie, who cannot get away from her transgressive life, and instead has feelings for Julia. Not much time passes that Douglas realizes that he wants to offer Julia the opportunity to raise her future child with him and so, in agreement with Boobsie, he divorces the woman. Boobsie, on the other hand, realizes that she does not love Douglas and that she has confused affection with something else; in fact, she realizes that she cannot be a good wife because she is too different, not only in age, from her husband. The two then divorce while promising to remain great friends. Douglas, at this point, runs to Julia confessing to having understood that he loves her and wants to raise her son with her; however, although she is honoured, Julia refuses the offer, preferring to remain friends with Douglas without engaging in a relationship with him: Julia, in fact, prefers to raise her son alone rather than in a loveless family.

1984 (#21) - Eric and Julia's relationship, Jack and Joe's disagreements

1984 (#4) - Victor's priorities, business commitments and the breakup with Julia

Put aside a turbulent period due to Eve's manipulations, and now determined to keep Victoria's fatherhood a secret by having taken him and Nikki two very different paths, Victor is finally ready to devote himself again to business and an important new chapter with the love of his life, Julia. Between the two of them, who have reconnected precisely on the occasion of the events that have just passed, the spark that has always distinguished them has once again burst forth, and a possible marriage seems already at the door. Soon, however, Julia began to feel again neglected and overshadowed by Victor both with regard to Douglas and business. Wanting at all costs to avoid restarting a relationship with the man set up like her previous unhappy marriage, Julia thus puts Victor to the test by encouraging him to go on a prenuptial cruise to South America together to get to know each other better and convince her that she really is in first place. Victor, though reluctant, agrees to leave; but when he is called back on urgent business, the woman is shocked to hear the man who should be with her for the rest of her life apologizing for having to return to Genoa City for pressing business engagements. In a furious argument, Victor admits that business is his priority at the moment, which convinces Julia that Victor hasn't changed at all, contrary to what she believed. Later, when Victor tries to apologize and proposes to Julia to become his wife, Julia firmly rejects the idea of a marriage, preferring to be alone rather than with a man who neglects and always puts her in second place.

1983 (#19) - The exhumation of the coffin, the marriage to Eve and Max's death

After the ceremony, Eve and Max immediately made sure that no one would suspect them. Max, aware that a possible autopsy could lead the police to incriminate them, incites Eve to oppose the burial of Victor, despite the opposition of Julia and everyone. In the end, Eve and Max secretly dig up the coffin and take it to the ranch, placing the coffin in Victor's bedroom, which in the meantime begins to appear fleetingly to Eve in order to intimidate her. Eve thus begins to believe she is hallucinating and, despite Max trying to calm her down, she begins to become agitated, convinced that Victor's spirit wants revenge. Eve's anxieties reach their top when Julia confides to the woman the suspicion that Victor has been killed and, at the same time, what Eve thinks is the ghost of Victor in a threatening tone. Max tries to reason with the woman about the need to get rid of the coffin by burning it, and Eve asks to be allowed to cremate the body, which is opposed by everyone. In the meantime, noticing that Eve is showing increasing signs of mental instability, Max thinks well of proposing to the woman to marry, which would allow him, in case of a declared mentally incapacity, to inherit half of Cole's estate instead of the woman. Max, in this way, secretly arranged a wedding with Eve right in Victor's room, next to his coffin. The priest, frightened by the strange request of the two, hastily celebrates their union before leaving without too many formalities. During the ceremony, moreover, an amused Victor appears again before Eve's eyes, smiling at her, which triggers the woman's terror, who hastens to marry the man without thinking about it. Having acquired enough evidence of what was their plan, Victor decides to put an end to the mise-en-scène by revealing himself in front of them in the ranch barn. At this point not only Eve, but also Max begins to panic, unable to believe his eyes. The result is a furious fight that mainly involves Eve and Julia, while a shocked Max, petrified and frightened by Victor, stumbles back and falls to the ground, being forked by an agricultural tool. Max dies instantly and the police, called by Julia and promptly intervened, arrest Eve, who is then locked up in a psychiatric centre.

1983 (#15) - The fake marriage proposal to Eve, the deceit surrounding Victor's death

Eve's plan, meanwhile, seems to be working and bringing more and more Victor to certain death. The only one who suspects that there is something strange in this matter, knowing that she remembers the words of that mysterious phone call whose voice sounds a lot like Max's, is Julia. Noticing Eve going to the ranch on time despite Victor's alleged absence, the woman discovers that Victor never actually left. Julia is astonished to see the man reduced to that condition and despairs. During one of her visits, however, Julia begins to be seriously suspicious when she finds Victor's dog dead near the bowl with his own leftovers of food, which Julia herself had given him the day before. Victor and Julia thus begin to be suspicious of Eve and soon, thanks also to the help of Douglas, they manage to understand the woman's crazy plan, proved also by the analysis of the food, which confirms the thesis of poisoning. Once back on their feet thanks to an antidote, and determined to teach Eve a lesson and take revenge for her attempt to kill him, Victor, together with Julia and Douglas, then develops a plan to trap the woman. The following day, Victor, now ill, tells Eve that he is almost dying and that he wants to confess his love for her. So he proposes to her to get married, in order to fulfill his dream, not forgetting to make it clear that, as his legitimate wife, she would inherit his entire estate. Eve cannot believe Victor's words and, delighted to be able to take not only half but the entire estate, warns Max to stop the poisoning until the wedding. Julia, meanwhile, pretends to be Eve's friend and helps her prepare for the wedding. However, on the day of the wedding, on arrival at Victor's house, a distraught Eve finds the paramedics on a stretcher carrying a man covered, claiming that Victor died that night. Eve cannot believe how this could have happened and takes it out on Max, who defends herself by confirming that she has stopped poisoning him. Victor, meanwhile, makes sure that the coffin is closed promptly so that no one knows it's empty. On the day of his funeral, from a hidden spot the man then enjoys his funeral watching all the grieving people, anxious to make Eve and Max pay for it.

1983 (#12) - Eve and Max's plan, Victor's poisoning and the trip to Tahiti

Eve's chance to put her crazy plan into action is imminent. When Victor allows his trusted butler and personal chef, Charles, to take a long vacation after years of service, Eve kindly offers to replace Charles in the kitchen to prepare Victor's meals. Eve, exploiting her old friendship with the mad chemist Max Siebalt, decides to poison Victor and thus receive the inheritance. Max, whom Eve introduces to a curious Julia as a wealthy count she's dating, thus prepares a lethal cure for Victor, which Eve immediately begins to mix in small doses, so that it can't be traced in the man's meals, who in the meantime, with the firm intention of forgetting Nikki, begins to date Julia again. As the days go by, Victor is so slowly and methodically poisoned to the point he begins to lose weight until, weakened, he falls to the ground stunned. Julia, worried, immediately calls the doctor, who, not perceiving anything about the real causes of the sickness, attributes the episode to tiredness, thus advising him to rest and to think only of relaxation. Victor then plans to go on holiday to Tahiti with Julia, happy for the man's thoughts. However, Eve and Max have other plans in mind. Having failed one of their attempts to kill Victor in a fake horseback riding accident, after having drugged this one too, the couple decide to hide Victor, now increasingly powerless, in his ranch and continue poisoning him to death. Julia appears perplexed when Eve informs her that Victor has decided to leave alone for Tahiti, not wanting to have Julia in his way; motivation which leaves the woman disappointed. But Julia, soon, begins to be skeptical about Victor's alleged departure, and begins to be suspicious when she is unable in any way, even because of a tropical storm on the island, to get in touch with Victor. In reality, the idea of telling Julia that he only went to Tahiti is Victor's idea, partly because he doesn't want the woman to see him in those conditions, partly because he is now subjugated by the control of Eve, who takes advantage of the man's confused state. When Victor asks Eve to call a doctor, the same Max shows up in front of the man who, pretending to be a doctor, prescribes a cure with the promise that will certainly make him feel better. In reality, what Max prescribes to Victor is an additional bacterial poison capable of causing him to become addicted. Soon, in fact, Victor finds himself too weak to eat and begins to be fed by IV, in which of course there is a strong dose of poison.

1983 (#8) - The threats to Victor, Julia's warning and Eve's return.

When Victor's ex-wife, Julia, hears on the phone, through a telephone line disturbance evidently caused by cable contact, a man saying the words "Victor must die", she immediately hurries to call the man back to warn him. The man, surprised to hear Julia, laughs about it and proposes instead to talk about it in person, taking advantage of it to invite her to dinner. Julia decides to return from Paris. Victor confirms that he believes that what Julia has heard is nonsense and does not care about it, not wanting to give it any importance; Julia, however, shows herself rather worried, admitting that she is happy to have had the opportunity to see Victor again. Between the two, it is clear, there is still the harmony of the past. Victor then realizes with amazement that he has forgotten how beautiful the woman was, remaining fascinated by her femininity. Victor himself, then, notices how Julia has acquired a new inner strength and maturity, evidently the result of the independence acquired after her separation with Victor. In the meantime, he updates his ex-wife on the latest developments, informing her that he had once again hired Eve as his personal secretary under pressure from Douglas. Julia notices his doubts about the decision, but Victor, who was in fact almost forced by the woman's insistence, always looking for money under the pretext of Cole's paternity, reassures the woman that he warned Eve not to meddle in his personal affairs again if she did not want to lose her job immediately, since Victor intends to maintain an exclusively working and professional relationship with her. In reality, obviously, the motivations that pushed Eve to return to Genoa City are quite different, and linked as always to the relationship between her son Cole and Victor. In fact, remembering to have heard Douglas say that Victor had always had a particular predilection for his son Cole to the point of having left half of his estate to the child in his will, Eve decided to return to Victor and this time to get her inheritance back as soon as possible.

1982 (#18) - Jack's chairmanship at Jabot Cosmetics and Diane's requests

Following Jack's marriage, John as promised is ready to leave his son the position of president of Jabot Cosmetics. Ashley, however, despite not revealing Jack's betrayal to his father the night before the wedding, sends a warning to his father to try to desist from the decision. An angry John, however, silences his daughter, convinced that  it's just an outburst of jealousy, and thus formalizes the decision in front of an enthusiastic Jack. The first problems of Jack's new assignment, however, were coming. In fact Diane shows up in front of Jack, she turns out to be much smarter and ambitious than Jack could ever suspect. This, in fact, immediately puts Jack under blackmail as she threatens to reveal the whole truth if she doesn't get a job as a model. Jack is thus forced to mediate between Diane's demands and the expectations of his young wife, who dreams of a modeling job at Jabot. To complicate things there is also Ashley herself who is very annoyed by Diane's presence in the company and proposes instead to her father to replace the role of Chris, who left with Snapper in London, with Julia. John agrees to take on Julia, a decision he had already made in the past and it puts Jack in serious trouble. So he decides to take on Diane for the summer campaign, who promises to keep the secret, and also Julia after her success in promoting perfumes, immediately triggering Ashley's protests, but silenced by her father, confident in his son's decisions. Then Patty herself is disappointed, convinced, even though she is reluctant to put aside for now her dream of working at Jabot to dedicate herself to the house and her marriage. It's clear, however, how Jack finds himself immediately in difficulty in managing such an important position.

1981 (#27) - Michael's ranch captivity, Julia's abortion and the divorce with Victor

Having gotten rid of Eve, Victor's plan is now to take care of Michael. Julia, not knowing that Victor is aware of Michael's fatherhood, continues to act normally by pretending in front of Victor to be expecting his son, hoping that the truth will never come out. Soon, however, from the coldness of the man Julia begins to suspect that Victor may know the truth and begins to fear for Michael's safety, aware of Victor's jealousy and his quick temper. Victor, meanwhile, from the hidden recordings made against Julia obtains the certainty of his clandestine relationship with Michael and, full of anger at the mere thought of his wife in the arms of the man, decides to act. With the excuse of wanting to give his wife a period of rest and peace of mind, Victor advises his wife to spend a few days in a specialized hospital center, also with the aim of carrying out health checks on the child; without Julia's presence on the ranch, therefore, Victor has the necessary freedom to build a bomb shelter on the ranch, complete with cameras and monitors; then, he attracts Michael with an excuse to the ranch and locks him inside the shelter, hiring Paul Williams for him to control the hostage. Victor explains to Paul that the man in the hut is a particularly violent and delirious cousin of his: his purpose is to feed him, without Julia knowing of the man's presence. When Julia returns, therefore, Victor is happy to embrace his wife again, who is surprised to read a telegram from Mchael, actually written by Victor, in which he says goodbye. Julia, however, believes that Michael has decided to give up on her and is convinced to give Victor a second chance. The two get closer and Victor achieves his goal when he makes Michael suffer and torture by forcing him to see him and his wife making love on the monitor. When Victor then informs his wife that he has decided to do the reverse operation and promises his wife that he will have more children in the future, Julia begins to believe that Victor has really changed. Things fall apart, however, when Julia discovers Paul intent on feeding Michael; upset, Julia frees Michael, but the man's escape is immediately blocked by Victor. Michael and Victor start a violent fight in which Julia and especially the child had the worst part. Taken to the hospital following a fall during the fight, Julia is forced to have a miscarriage at the very moment when Victor, to her surprise and to her immense regret, learns that Julia's baby was, despite the vasectomy, his own son. In the meantime, an inconsolable Julia decides to divorce Victor, despite his pleas to desist from the decision. Finally, she leaves Genoa City.

1981 (#22) - Derek's plan and the agreement between Eve and Victor

After losing control of Chancellor Industries to Victor, it is only logical that Derek began to feel a great resentment towards the man; resentment also increased by the flirt between Victor and Judy, with whom Derek hoped to have a future. When Derek accidentally meets Eve, who can't forgive Victor for not recognizing her son, it's normal for the two to work together to bring Victor down and take revenge on him. After Eve informs him of the situation regarding Julia's pregnancy, therefore, Derek decides to take action to destroy the man who ruined his life. Derek thus, thanks to the knowledge of a doctor in the hospital, manages to get his hands on the report of Victor's vasectomy, which confirms the fact that Julia's baby was conceived after the operation. Eve and Derek decide to send a copy of the report to Julia, who realizes that the baby she is carrying is clearly Michael's. Julia thus informs Michael, sharing sweet moments with him. What Julia cannot imagine is that Victor also understands the truth about the fatherhood of Julia's baby, which turns his jealousy into certainty about Julia's betrayals. Victor then decides to record Julia's hidden conversations with her lover Michael in order to obtain evidence about the relationship between the two. Victor then decides to take action. First, he decides to get rid of Eve, accepting the woman's last financial request for $50,000, but only on the condition that she had agreed to hide her fatherhood: Eve would claim to have been widowed and to have received a large inheritance from Cole's rich uncle, who was supposed to study at one of the best schools in Switzerland. Eve, now resigned to not seeing Victor's paternity of Cole recognized, decided to leave Genoa City forever.

1981 (#20) - Julia's pregnancy, doubts about fatherhood and Victor's childhood

Meanwhile, after severe nausea, Julia discovers she's pregnant. At first the woman is on cloud nine and is overjoyed by the news, which is the realization of all her dreams. However, shortly afterwards she realizes that the baby she is carrying might not be Victor's baby, but Michael's. Julia then lets herself go from despair and discouragement, not knowing what to do or whether or not to inform Michael. In any case, the woman, unaware that Victor has undergone a vasectomy, announces to Victor that she is pregnant. The last thing Victor would have wanted to hear is that of Julia's pregnancy; especially now that he was certain that it is not his child. Victor, therefore, does not accept well his wife's pregnancy and is now convinced of Julia's infidelity. Later, however, he is informed by the doctors that the vasectomy does not guarantee the absolute safety of the failure, so Julia's baby could also be his own, especially since the conception took place around the time of the operation, but it is not certain whether it took place before or after. In any case, Victor, whether or not the baby is his, tells Julia to choose between him and the baby, forcing her to have an abortion. But Julia protests and throws herself at Victor, accusing him of being insensitive and thinking just about himself. It is at this point that Victor reveals that he hates the idea of having children because he fears not being a good parent, just as his were not to him. Albert Miller and Cora Miller's son, Christian, Victor's real name, is the last of three children, after Matthew and Reinette. At his birth, however, Albert abandoned his family and Cora left him in an orphanage where he spent the first ten years of his life. After he left there, Christian changed his name to Victor, a name that must always remind him of his revenge, and Newman, as a symbol of rebirth and a new man, as he has become since then. From that moment on, Victor never trusted anyone again, relying only on himself, until he met Julia. She is moved by her husband's story, which she had never heard before, and embraces him. Victor, then, later apologizes for all the pain he caused her, recognizing that she is the only person who has ever loved him; he then tells Julia that he wants the child, convinced that he will turn out to be a better person than his father.

1981 (#16) - Victor's vasectomy, Julia and Michael's passion, Eve's requests

During his work at Jabot, Michael is struck by Julia's beauty and doesn't hide the fact that he would like to date her if she wasn't married. Julia, while admitting that she enjoys Michael's kindness and charm, confirms that she is happily married to Victor. In fact, the marriage between the two finally seems to be going well and Julia begins to fantasize about a future baby. The subject, which has always been a taboo with Victor who absolutely has no intention of becoming a father, is, as always, put aside by the man, who is strongly disagrees with the idea of having a child in their life. To make sure that he doesn't end up with his wife expecting a baby at any moment, Victor undergoes a vasectomy that guarantees him the impossibility of having children. Victor, of course, does not inform his wife about the vasectomy, so that she will believe that the non-pregnancy is exclusively due to bad luck. In any case, Julia does not hide her bitterness for her husband's harshness and his opinions that are often too far from hers, despite the fact that she is convinced that inside him there is still the sweet man of then. The cooling off period in Victor and Julia's relationship, meanwhile, allows Michael to get closer and closer. Things fall apart for Julia when Eve, with her son Cole, returns to town surprised. Realizing that she doesn't just want money to hide, but rather to fight to get Victor and reunite her family, not resigning herself to the fact that the father of her child will remain exclusively her one-night stand, Eve is disappointed when she learns that Victor is out of town on business. Despite everything, Eve does not miss the opportunity to visit Victor's house with an excuse and meet his wife Julia. She soon becomes suspicious and begins to understand that Eve is Victor's mistress; on the other hand, the woman does not do much to hide it. Unable to react and realizing that she has once again been mocked by her husband, a desperate Julia finds comfort in Michael's arms. Overwhelmed by grief, Julia lets herself go and the two spend a night of passion. Only in the morning does Julia realize that she has betrayed Victor for the first time and, feeling strongly guilty, she returns home before Victor returns. In the meantime, he runs into Eve, and denies the recognition of Cole as his son. Eve, after a failed seduction attempt, argues furiously with the man and the woman refuses further sums of money, promising that she will fight to see what is due to her.

1981 (#12) - Michael's photography studio, Julia's career and Jack and Jill's flirt

The opening of Michael's new photographic studio, presided over by a radiant Victor, is greeted with great interest by Julia, who often likes to remember her never-beginning career as a model when she was a teenager, interrupted after meeting Victor. Michael immediately notices the beauty of the woman and invites her for some photographs, which Victor appreciates very much. But the one who appreciates most the shoot is Jill, who immediately sees in that face what she is seeking for Jabot's advertising campaign. So Jill immediately shows the shots to John, who immediately agrees on Julia's beauty and Michael's talent, and decides to hire them both for the new Jabot Cosmetics campaign. Julia is enthusiastic about the offer to become Jabot's image woman, but at the same time worried about Victor's reaction. She knows very well the man and his obsessive jealousy that led her many years ago to abandon her dream of becoming a model. And in fact, at the news of Julia's new work, Victor is strongly against it. However, it is Michael himself who reassures the man, reminding him that he owes him for financing the studio and that part of the proceeds from Jabot's advertising campaign will also go to Victor. Only after John's reassurance, however, Victor gives up and accept the job offered to Julia, who happily thanks her husband. Meanwhile, still at Jabot, John insists that Jill and Jack continue to work side by side; it bothers the woman a bit, tired of feeling the boy who is trying so hard to win her over. The boy's immaturity and charisma at the same time, however, eventually break through to Jill who lets herself go and starts an intense love affair with Jack.

1981 (#7) - The burglary at Lorie's house and the congeniality with Victor

Although Brock and Julia have stopped seeing each other, Victor remains convinced of the woman's infidelity and does not trust his wife's apparent dedication to him. Convinced of this, Victor doesn't worry too much about changing his lifestyle, which he does, especially at work, with constant flirtation and affairs. Among the many women that Victor dates with more or less commitment, there is also a Lorie whose marriage to Lance, as mentioned, is experiencing some difficulties. The two get to know each other when Lorie asks Victor to finance the project of a friend of her, Michael Scott, who plans to open a photographic studio. Michael, who was the publicist for the woman's book, has in fact decided to give up his job to devote full time to his passion. Impressed by the woman's charm, Victor accepts Lorie's request in exchange for a romantic candlelight dinner. It is clear that there is a feeling between the two, and the man decides to take care of the woman when her house is burgled. It is Brock who discovers the relationship between the two, managing to capture with his camera some shots in which the two exchange passionate kisses. Brock, with evidence of Victor's betrayal, does not hesitate to show it to a desperate Julia in an attempt to continue their love affair. The situation between Victor and Julia, therefore, precipitates again, bringing Julia back into a situation of depression and frustration which, however, never turns into a firm decision to put an end to the marriage. Disappointed by the fact that Julia is unable to break away from her husband even in front of the evidence of the flirt between Lorie and Victor, Brock decides to break off all relations with the woman definitively, and decides to leave Genoa City looking for a new start and not create further problems in the friendship between Katherine and Victor. Victor's relationship with Lorie, meanwhile, soon turns into a friendship as Lorie is still in love with Lance and is determined to continue her marriage.

1981 (#1) - Victor's jealousy, Julia's indecision, and Brock's impatience

As the weeks go by, the relationship between Julia and Brock evolves rapidly. The two see each other more and more often, despite Julia's fear that her husband may begin to suspect that she is cheating on him. However, it is easy for Brock and Julia to take advantage of the long days spent on the Newman ranch, given Victor's persistent absence being busy with his job. Brock would like to make love to the woman, but she asks for time and understanding, admitting that she is in a confused situation and cannot understand her feelings. Victor's first suspicion of an allegedly clandestine relationship between the two is when, returning home early from work, the man finds Brock at home with Julia; but suspicions that there is more than just a friendship between the two materialize especially when Victor and Julia are robbed of their car and Julia insists that Brock should cooperate with the police to investigate the identity of the criminals. Victor, convinced that Brock is interfering in his marriage, has a tough fight with Brock and gets angry with Julia. During the discussion, Julia falls down hitting her head and, taken to the hospital, it is once again Brock who assists her frequently, which annoys Victor, who is becoming increasingly angry. Wondering how much longer she could endure her husband's jealousy and insecurities, Julia admits that she is falling in love with Brock and asks him how to get a divorce. But when Victor apologizes to his wife and promises her that he would change from that moment on, become more caring and spend much more time with her, Julia cannot sign the divorce papers, and gives Victor a second chance as long as he is fully committed to their marriage. The woman has known the man since their teens and cannot imagine a life without him. Disappointed by the woman's second thoughts, and impatient to wait needlessly for Julia to admit her real feelings, Brock decides to no longer interfere in the couple's marriage.

1980 (#24) - Victor’s unhappy marriage, the deep relationship between Julia and Brock

Arrived in Genoa City for an important assignment at the head of the prestigious Chancellor Industries, Victor is an established and envied successful man who seems to have everything in life: money, power and beauty. Victor in business is a cynical and ruthless person, but he is also gentle and calm. He has great self-confidence, which comes from great willpower and determination in everything he does. Victor is a lover of power and money and, like any successful person, also of women. He has been married for almost three years to a beautiful young woman named Julia Newman, a girl he has known since adolescence and with whom he moves to a luxurious ranch in the suburbs of Genoa City. However, Victor's wonderful life is not regarded in the same way by Julia. Forced to live in a big house yet out of all human contact, Julia spends her days in the company of her faithful butler Charles Martin and the incredible boredom and emptiness she has felt for some years now. Victor is a very jealous and protective man, which is why he never lets her go out alone or practice any hobbies; on the contrary, Victor is always out on business, in his beloved clubs and always returns late at night, probably after spending the night in some nightclub or with some prostitute. The sad life of Julia, not at all happy to have left Buffalo where at least she had her friends, for Genoa City, however, takes a completely unexpected turn with the knowledge of Katherine's son, Victor's great friend, Brock. That man of gentle and calm manners pleasantly surprised the woman, who more and more often receives a visit from the man who, unlike Victor, does not treat her as an object and makes her finally feel alive. The two of them spend entire afternoons together talking about their lives and experiences. Thus, from a simple friendship, a feeling of pure and noble love soon develops between them, but never tainted by mere physical attraction or effusions; and this is also due to Julia's fear of being caught by Victor.
