1982 (#36) - Kevin's doubts and Victor's manipulations on paternity test

As the weeks go by, however, the first problems between Kevin and Nikki reoccur on time, with Nikki determined to make her case against Victor about Victoria's fatherhood. On the other hand, it is Kevin himself who asks Nikki to resolve once and for all the question of the paternity of the child, after Victor also tells him that Victoria cannot be his daughter. However, when Nikki announces that he has arranged an appointment with a private clinic to carry out a paternity test on Victoria, Victor begins to have doubts himself, remembering that at the time the doctors told him that a vasectomy does not guarantee one hundred percent the impossibility of having children. Victor, therefore, used Katherine's help so that he would not turn out to be Victoria's father, just in the case that the biological tests confirm it. It is therefore easy for Katherine to bribe the nurses at the clinic to make Victor satisfied. After getting the tests results confirming Victor is Victoria's father, Katherine asks him if he wants to go ahead in order to hide the truth. Victor suddenly seems doubtful and, remembering the child lost by Julia, almost seems happy to be able to raise his daughter with Nikki. However, driven by a wave of pride, he confirms to Katherine that he wants to lie about the tests. It's not easy for Katherine to lie to her friend, but in the end she convinces herself that she's sorry for the hated Allison. Nikki is shocked to learn that Victoria's father is, contrary to what she thought, Kevin. This convinces the two of them to try again to make their marriage work, even though they both know they have other people in their hearts.

1982 (#34) - Victoria's birth and Nikki's return

Everyone's life in Genoa City is shattered by the return of Nikki, called back to the city by Katherine, having learned from the Nikki that she has given birth to a baby girl. Everyone is so happy to embrace the newcomer and especially Kevin, who confesses to Nikki that things between him and Carolyn didn't go exactly the way they wanted to and that he is so ready to give their marriage a new chance. Nikki seems quite skeptical, but after receiving another rejection from Victor she reluctantly accepts it. Allison proposes to name the baby girl Victoria, just like Earl's mother and then Kevin's grandmother who had passed away a few years earlier; a request that makes Allison's husband, Earl, overjoyed and now reconciled with his wife. The choice, surprisingly, is welcomed by Nikki, who is actually happy to name her little girl after what she feels is her real father, Victor, the only man she loves.

1982 (#33) - The rivalry between Allison and Katherine

Happy about the breakup between Nikki and Kevin, Allison is simultaneously trying to rebuild her marriage to Earl. Although he has decided not to divorce his wife, he continues meanwhile to hang out with Katherine, with whom he pleasantly remembers their past. The relationship between the two is strengthened to the point of convincing Allison to ask for a meeting with the woman to propose a settlement. It is in fact Allison who tells Katherine that she is willing at this point to give up Earl, not wanting to continue living in a marriage that is turning into a farce; but in exchange for her divorce, Allison asks Katherine to help her become more attractive to men, confessing to envy her ability to surround herself with younger men. Katherine accepts and thus begins to show her secrets as a charmer; what Katherine does not know is that Allison intends to use these tricks precisely to win back Earl and return to a fully satisfying marriage with him. And as time goes by, things actually seem to change in favor of Allison, who admits, after being seen by Earl himself, that she went to Katherine's class and wants to show him what she has learned. Allison and Earl's marriage thus strengthened as never before, and the man stopped seeing Katherine, who resigned herself to accepting that Earl would never divorce Allison.

Far from the turbulent problems of Genoa City, meanwhile, Chris and Snapper live happily in London. Both have in fact immediately adapted to their new life in Europe, although Chris misses his father Stuart very much. Snapper himself is worried about his mother Liz, aware that she is always worried about Jill's turbulent life. Chris and Snapper decide to return to the city as soon as their schedule allows. Here, they immediately regain the love of their parents, increasingly struggling with the aches and pains of advancing age. Liz, meanwhile, is annoyed by Stuart's words, who asks Chris not to go back to London with Snapper, but when Snapper kindly refuses the offer, it is Chris who offers Stuart a surprise to come to London with Liz. Seeing that each of their children are now taking different paths and that they don't have much time to spend with them, both Stuart and Liz think seriously about Chris and Snapper's offer to move with them to Europe. Moreover, Stuart is attracted to the teaching opportunities that Chris is looking forward to, as there is a strong demand for journalism professors in London. Liz, worried about her husband's increasing health instability, is also convinced that moving to London is the best choice, reassured by Snapper about the quality of the hospitals in the British capital. A few days after Chris and Snapper's arrival in Genoa City, therefore, Liz, Stuart and Greg are ready to pack up and go to England, too, happy to move to Britain and start a new life there. Greg, after all, needs to forget April and England is a great opportunity for his lawyer job. Before leaving, surprisingly Sally arrives at the airport, who informs everyone that she has recently married Stan, with whom she lives in Michigan. 1982 (#31) - Traci's line problems and the dream come true of singing with Danny

Even the youngest of John's daughters, Traci, decided to stay in Genoa city, to the joy of her father, following the arrival for Jack's wedding. John, in fact, hoped that Traci would be able to enroll at a prestigious university, but in the end her choice to enrol at the less high-profile Genoa City University makes John happy anyway, so he can be close to his daughter. In fact, Traci's decision is essentially due to Danny's presence in the city, of which she is a fierce supporter. Traci, a very different girl from her older sister being more shy and introverted, is a much more problematic and rebellious girl than Ashley. The first problem, for Traci, is her body shape; Traci feels ugly and doesn't accept herself for what she is. Luckily for her, however, Traci meets a valuable friend in Angela, who helps her in her goal of losing weight and becoming more attractive. Angela, who worries Robert quite a bit when she runs away from home, since Robert is afraid that she might end up in the Golden Touch prostitution ring, soon starts attending Jona's, taking Traci with her. Traci soon stands out for her love for Danny and is unanimously elected president of Danny's fan club after Patty, now married, resigns from the role. Traci gets to know Danny and highlights his magnificent singing skills; the girl literally amazes the rock star, who decides to have her perform in front of the audience during one of his concerts. Impressed by the young girl's voice, Danny decided to let her join the band, which leaves a very happy Traci speechless. She realizes her dream as a child and soon develops a crush on Danny, with whom she falls madly in love. Meanwhile, Gina Romalotti, Danny's older sister, returns home. The boy, as soon as he sees her, closes the door in his face, but to the woman's demands he finally gives in. It turns out that Gina has just come out of prison, where she has been locked up for five years, being a long time scammer. Danny wouldn't want anything to do with her, but having no courage to kick her out of the house, not having any property, he decides to take her in. Right from the start, Gina takes an interest in Danny's business and life, congratulating him both on his success as a singer and on his acquaintance with Traci, an Abbott and therefore a great economic potential for them.

Ever since Ashley came back for Jack's wedding, John has been overjoyed to have his daughter back in town. So she decides to work incognito in the laboratory under a fake name: Susan. In that department she can help develop new fragrances for Jabot Cosmetics perfumes. In the laboratory, Ashley gets her first professional and non-professional satisfactions; here she meets Brian Forbes, an excellent chemist that Ashley soon starts to date. The problems for Ashley and Brian, later, come from Jack himself, who is annoyed by the man who is convinced that he wants to take advantage of Ashley and fires him. Ashley is furious with Jack for his manners and his hunger for power; she then orders Brian's immediate reintegration if he doesn't want his premarital secret revealed. Jack thus hires again the man and receives an intimation from Ashley that he would no longer be in his place if he had still interfered in his relationship with Brian. 1982 (#26) - Victor's engagement to Victor, the gift of quotas and Lorie's escape

Without Nikki's distractions and attempts of seduction, driven away by her marriage to Kevin, Victor can finally focus on his relationship with Lorie, with whom he is slowly falling in love. The woman, after all, seems to be increasingly attracted to Victor and his life, to the point that in a short time her biography is completed. Victor is enthusiastic about Lorie's beautiful words about him, words that she has evidently used to attract the man to her in order to achieve her plan. And Victor, now in love, thus falls into the trap of the woman. When Victor gives a very precious ring professing his proposal of marriage, the woman accepts on the condition that the gift should be Prentiss Industries' shares. The man, convinced that the woman only wants proof of his sincerity and love, accepts and grants him a promise to sell her his entire controlling stake in the company. A very happy Lorie, thus, accepts Victor's proposal, making him not at all suspicious of her real intentions. And Victor proves he suspects absolutely nothing even when Lorie asks him to sign the agreement before the wedding so that he can prove to his future wife that she can trust him completely. Unaware that Lorie has already made a copy of the deed, Victor is then happily surprised to see Lorie burn the deal, which removes any doubt in Victor's mind about the woman's feelings. Lorie, in fact, for the first time ever shows repentance for her plan, having begun to know and truly love Victor; however, feelings for Lance are still strong and lasting and she is convinced that she will go through with her plan; a plan that culminates as planned on the fateful wedding day. Lorie's revenge on an unsuspecting Victor, who suspects absolutely nothing, surprises the man completely. While Victor waits impatiently at the altar for the woman's arrival, a letter arrives in which Lorie explains that she is sorry but cannot forget her past, which means too much to her, and therefore cannot marry Victor. Victor's surprise then turns to bewilderment and anger when he discovers that Lorie has stolen Prentiss from him having saved a copy of their contract. Showing the contract signed by Victor, Lorie meets Lucas to inform him that he has got Prentiss Industries back and wants to go looking for Lance to return with him, who is her one true love. Lucas is delighted with the news and wishes Lorie, about to leave for Paris, good luck. After that, Lorie takes off for her flight to Europe, full of hopes for a possible future with Lance.

1982 (#24) - Allison's grudge and Earl's history with Katherine

Allison's hatred for Nikki is mainly due to the fact that she has a deep friendship with Katherine, which was further strengthened by Jerry's death. In fact, Allison has always hated Katherine for the fact that her husband Earl, Katherine's former high school friend, had a love affair with her in the past before their marriage. The hostility between the two women suddenly reemerges when Earl, upon seeing Katherine again, realizes that he still has a strong feeling for her. In front of her husband's confessions, Allison is literally shocked and promises to do everything possible to get in the way of both Nikki and Katherine. Meanwhile, she starts dating Earl more and more often, feeling lonely after Jerry's death. Earl starts cheating on Allison, but she is determined to do anything to save her marriage. Katherine, meanwhile, tries to convince Earl to ask his wife for a divorce, but he, while confirming that he no longer loves her, seems doubtful when confronted with such a precipitous choice. Katherine, however, does not give up and contacts her friend Douglas so he can interfere in Earl and Allison's marriage by courting the woman, and also to seek contact in court for a divorce decision in court. However, just when Douglas confirms to Katherine that he has found a judge willing to be corrupted in order to facilitate the divorce proceedings, Earl confides to Katherine that he has reconsidered and that he no longer wants a divorce.

1982 (#23) - Nikki's pregnancy and marriage to Kevin

Nikki's difficult attempt to put Victor's unrequited love behind her is shattered when Nikki discovers she is pregnant. Having been conceived before Kevin's knowledge, the woman doesn't take long to realize that the baby's father is Victor. Despite this, knowing that the man has no interest in children and that the last thing he would want is to become a father, Nikki, in order not to upset Victor and also collapse his last chance to have a future with him, admits that the baby's father is Kevin, thus voluntarily lying to the man about the months of the baby he is carrying. Kevin, upon hearing that he got Nikki pregnant, is completely shocked and doesn't know how to react. Victor, then, does not fail to take the opportunity to get rid of Nikki and thus incites Kevin to take responsibility and do the right thing for the unborn child, which is to propose to Nikki to get married. Kevin, who has already admitted to Nikki that he doesn't love her and that he is convinced that she is not the right woman for him, finds himself in front of the same woman saying that he can't leave her to be a mother alone, knowing that that is his baby. Nikki, forced to lie about the paternity of the child, at this point finds herself reluctantly accepting Kevin's proposal, so that Victor does not suspect that the child is actually his. On the other hand, not seeing a chance in the future between her and Victor, she resigns herself to a marriage with a kind and helpful man like Kevin. But if marriage, although apparently necessary, is not a prospect that excites the two future spouses, it is even a totally unacceptable solution for Allison Bancroft, Kevin's mother, who from the first meeting with Nikki refuses to accept her as his son's future bride, considering her a woman who promises nothing good and who is inadequate for his son. Allison, therefore, firmly opposes the wedding, despite Kevin trying to explain to her that Nikki is just an unlucky girl who has always met the wrong people. Nikki suffers a lot from the situation, but in the end she resigns herself to accept this too, in order to give a father to the unborn child. When the wedding, on which Victor happily gives his blessing, seems close and Nikki refuses Allison's attempt to bribe her with a large sum of money to renounce the wedding, Kevin's mother tries an extreme attempt to stop the wedding by calling Carolyn Conwell, Kevin's ex-girlfriend and still in love with him, who tries in every way to convince Kevin to give up. He explains to her that he can't back out and that he is ready to take responsibility as a father, a response that is quite striking for Carolyn, whose noble gesture makes him understand how he is a sweet boy and how Nikki has turned out to be a schemer. Neither Allison nor Carolyn suspect that marriage is not an alternative that even Nikki, secretly in love with Victor, is enthusiastic about, but it seems to Nikki the only viable solution. In any case, in the end, the fatidic wedding day between Nikki and Kevin arrives and the two of them exchange their wedding vows, hoping that from this marriage, which starts with so much good will but without true love, a long union and a real family can be born; a prospect that Allison cannot believe. And neither can Carolyn, who promises herself to win Kevin back.

1982 (#22) - Andy and Paul's undercover investigation

Shocked by the accusations against his father and the suspension from work, Paul decides to investigate. With him, there is also a determined Andy, who after being left by Jill decides to start a new life by going to work in Paul's own detective agency. To be convinced that there is much more behind Carl's accusations is not just Paul, but also the head of the department Frank, who secretly contacts Paul to investigate the case. Frank warns the two boys that theirs must be an undercover job that no one should know anything about; in particular, not even Mary and Carl himself should suspect anything. To do this, Paul stages a furious quarrel with his mother Mary for futile reasons, culminating in the abandonment of the house; this inexplicable episode, for Mary, is followed by an argument with Carl, in which Paul accuses his father of being a corrupt and a criminal. Having eliminated all suspicions and any relationship with his family, Paul can finally act undercover. Paul's first objective is to track down Pam Warren, who doesn't work at Jona's anymore. Paul meets Cindy, another maid who, he suspects, may be linked to the prostitution trafficking, having been caught with Tony Di Salvo, a mafioso who works under Pete's name. Paul, unlike his father, shows an interest in dishonest business and, when Tony is arrested for violence on poor Cindy, Paul contacts Tony to help him out of prison, in exchange for some information and tips to reach other members of the gang. Tony then confirms that he works for Pete in the drug trade, while Lenny Wilkens organizes the prostitution trade in a new club called Golden Touch. Because of this, having touched one of Lenny's favourite girls, Tony found himself with the problems he now has with justice. Paul, therefore, now knows who to contact - Lenny. Through him, he finally manages to intercept Pam Warren. Andy repeatedly tries to warn Paul of the danger he's in, but he doesn't seem to have a clue, not even when Lenny puts a knife to his neck as a warning. During his stakeouts at the Golden Touch, Paul also intercepts young Angela and, before she can be hired and put to work as a prostitute, she is rescued by the man and, without being seen by Robert, is taken to safety before an interested Lenny can hire her.

1982 (#21) - The relationship between Leslie and Robert and Claire's catatonic state

Setting aside Vanessa's death, Lorie's trial and acquittal, as well as the struggles over the acquisition of Prentiss Industries and Brooks' custody, it's time to start a new life for Leslie. After Jonas' departure, she finds herself alone again trying to forget her feelings for Lance. Luckily for her, it's the lawyer Robert who is standing by her, who, after exonerating Lorie, hasn't had as much of a future with her as he'd hoped. However, it was at the trial that Robert got to know Leslie, with whom he first had a simple friendship, then a growing relationship that soon turned into love. Robert soon finds himself involved with Leslie, to whom he confides he is actually married despite his wife, Claire, who has been hospitalized in a psychiatric center in a catatonic state for fifteen years that has projected her out of the world. Robert then admits that he has a 16-year-old daughter, Angela, to whom he never had the courage to tell the truth and who therefore believes that her mother is dead. In the meantime Leslie gets to know Angela and there is an immediate connection between the two, so much so that Angela hopes she can be a good companion for her father. Soon, Leslie tells Robert that she thinks it's right to tell Angela the truth, and so Robert discusses the matter with her daughter. Angela cannot believe her father's words and immediately asks to visit her mother. The visit, however, turns out to be very different from what the girl had hoped: Claire finds herself in a complete state of shock and hardly reacts at all to stimuli. The doctors, however, urge Robert to pursue an innovative treatment, which could lead to new hopes. Robert, meanwhile, is officially engaged to Leslie and the two begin to think seriously about marriage: on the other hand, although not official, the law would allow Robert to divorce at any time. Angela at this point opposes the relationship between Robert and Leslie, she would like to step aside, despite Robert says it's time to move on with her life. But just when the two start planning their wedding date, the doctors inform Robert and a very happy Angela that Claire seems to be finally on the path to recovery. Leslie agrees to suspend their relationship to give Robert room to be with Claire, who quickly recovers and can finally embrace her daughter again. When the three of them decide to try to reunite their family, Leslie realizes it's time to leave Genoa City behind and go on a European concert tour with Maestro Fautsch.

1982 (#20) - Jack's attempts to undermine the relationship between John and Jill

In addition to Jack's chairmanship, meanwhile, the Abbott family is still the focus of attention this time on the relationship between John and Jill. The two of them, after the separation of the woman from Andy, begin dating assiduously and show in public their relationship, which is becoming increasingly serious and important. Jack is astonished to find at his wedding the woman, with whom he has certainly closed not in good terms, in the company of his father. Jack immediately criticizes his father's decision to get back together with Jill, with which in the meantime John becomes clear about their farewell two years earlier. But if the relationship between John and Jill is strengthened as never before, Jack tries in every way to oppose them. First by revealing to his father that Jill has a child, Phillip Jr., about whom the girl had never spoken; then by threatening to call his mother and John's ex-wife, Dina Mergeron, back to help them get back together. However, Jack's attempts fail firstly because Dina, who had left the family eleven years earlier, categorically refuses to return to the city, and secondly because John willingly accepts the news of Jill's baby, happy to be able to raise Phillip Jr with her and guarantee them financial stability. Jack, then, decides to go on the attack again, proposing to Diane to seduce John in order to make him break up with Jill, but all the woman's attempts are in vain and have the sole effect of uniting the two even more. Then when John and Jill announce they want to get married, Jack tries one last attempt with Katherine. In fact, Jack convinces the woman, Jill's historical rival, to talk to Ashley to help her brother to fight the couple formed by her father and Jill; but even this attempt is in vain, since Ashley doesn't want to interfere with her father's plans and doesn't even want to hear about her brother's plots.

This expectations were reinforced by the secrets and the passionate encounters with the man in his luxurious ranch and the many frequent gifts that the man buys her. Frustrated by the situation, Nikki asks Victor about their relationship and is very disappointed when the man makes it clear that there can never be any ties or feelings between them. Nikki's heart is further broken when it is Victor himself who, in order to drive Nikki away, decides to introduce the beautiful young architect Kevin Bancroft, who is working for Victor on the project for the construction of Newman Towers. Nikki finally decides to go out with Kevin, who immediately shows an interest in the woman's company and is fascinated by her irresistible beauty. Nikki's thoughts, however, are all turned to Victor, who she hopes to make jealous by going out with Kevin himself. But that's not how it goes at all, as Kevin, having discovered that Nikki makes a living as an exotic dancer, explains to the woman that it would never work out between them. Nikki finds herself so completely alone and heartbroken by a Victor who, meanwhile, is getting closer and closer to Lorie.

Ashley, however, despite not revealing Jack's betrayal to his father the night before the wedding, sends a warning to his father to try to desist from the decision. An angry John, however, silences his daughter, convinced that  it's just an outburst of jealousy, and thus formalizes the decision in front of an enthusiastic Jack. The first problems of Jack's new assignment, however, were coming. In fact Diane shows up in front of Jack, she turns out to be much smarter and ambitious than Jack could ever suspect. This, in fact, immediately puts Jack under blackmail as she threatens to reveal the whole truth if she doesn't get a job as a model. Jack is thus forced to mediate between Diane's demands and the expectations of his young wife, who dreams of a modeling job at Jabot. To complicate things there is also Ashley herself who is very annoyed by Diane's presence in the company and proposes instead to her father to replace the role of Chris, who left with Snapper in London, with Julia. John agrees to take on Julia, a decision he had already made in the past and it puts Jack in serious trouble. So he decides to take on Diane for the summer campaign, who promises to keep the secret, and also Julia after her success in promoting perfumes, immediately triggering Ashley's protests, but silenced by her father, confident in his son's decisions. Then Patty herself is disappointed, convinced, even though she is reluctant to put aside for now her dream of working at Jabot to dedicate herself to the house and her marriage. It's clear, however, how Jack finds himself immediately in difficulty in managing such an important position.

1982 (#17) - Lorie's promise and Victor's biography

After losing Lance's esteem, Lorie, despite putting the nightmare of the charges for Vanessa's murder behind her, enters a moment of depression. Her heart still beats for Lance and she feels guilty for selling her share to Victor. Regretting this choice, she promises she will do anything to regain control of Prentiss Industries so she can make it up to Lance. In a confrontation with Victor, meanwhile, he explains to Lorie that he wanted to take control of the company for the sake of the woman and to teach Lance a lesson, guilty of distrusting Lorie herself and doubting her innocence. Just to make her understand how much Victor cares about her and Prentiss, the man offers her a job that could improve both her image and that of the company. Knowing Lorie's talent as a writer, he proposed that she write a biography. The woman accepts, happy to be able to fit into the man's life. Lorie's plans are clear: to get into Victor's heart to get Prentiss Industries back. Thus, during Lorie's work, they get very close and Victor shows an immediate interest in Lorie's company, and increasingly organizes romantic appointments in which the woman gets to know the man better. In fact, Lorie begins to understand how Victor is not only what he apparently shows on the outside, a ruthless, cold, calculating man; he has a gentle, sweet and romantic soul inside him. Soon, therefore, the professional relationship between Lorie and Victor begins to have a sentimental involvement. Victor is happy with how things are shaping up between the two, ignoring the fact that Lorie intends to use her position to gain access to confidential information and files in order to get the company back.
