1991 (#25) - The failed assassination attempt, Paul's pursuit and David's death

The charity ball organized by John and Katherine will also be attended by Danny, Christine and Nina, all happy to enjoy a special evening. Katherine also invites Flo and Jim, but the two refuse the offer, preferring to be alone. In fact, if on the one hand Flo regrets not attending the ball, it is the same woman who insists on refusing Katherine's invitation, not wanting to disappoint Jim who confessed to him that he hates disguises. In reality, the whole thing is part of David's plan, who intends to attend the dance, but as a murderer. In the meantime, Diane comes back to town, furious at being sidelined by David and jealous of his marriage to Flo. Arriving at the ball, Danny and Christine are thrilled to learn that their costumes will be worn for the entire evening and there can be no revelation of people's identities. Meanwhile, Nina also arrives at the ball, accompanied by Katherine, anxious to have a fun evening. What no one knows is that David is also present at the party, dressed as a wolf just like Danny to blend in even more with the crowd, intent on making sure that this evening will be unforgettable for everyone. Between one dance and another, and throughout the evening, David tries to track down his targets; in the end, taking advantage of the fact that he can blend in with Danny, he manages to gather all three of his predestined victims in a corner and, immediately causing a chill to fall among the attendees, pulls out his gun. Nina and Christine, in despair, realize that this is not a joke and panic, but the whole thing ends in an apparent prank that fills the room with humor and hilarity when the gun does not come out real bullets, but of wax. David, incredulous at what has happened, decides to leave the party unnoticed, still unable to give himself an explanation. The truth is that this time it's Diane who gets in David's way, as she understood David's whole plan and wanted to take revenge for being dumped. Even though the episode has almost passed into the background, it doesn't leave Paul indifferent, who is called by John and Katherine to be the plainclothes security man for the party. So Paul decides to follow the trail of the man, who turns out not to be Danny, until, feeling chased, David begins to run away. Suddenly, Paul starts running after him, beginning a furious manhunt. The whole thing ends on the top floor of the building, with David who, having no other way out, inadvertently jumps into a chute used to throw in the garbage while the compacting machine is working. David, thus, dies on the spot mutilated by the machine, closing the party in tragedy. Flo cries desperately at the news of her husband's death, and seems inconsolable despite all the stories from Nina, Katherine and Christine, who assure her of David's bad intentions, which finally belong only to the past.

1991 (#21) - Flo's return, her marriage to Jim and David's new identity

It has been a few months now since David was pronounced dead, and Nina has now moved on with her life, intent on raising little Chance along with Katherine's care immersed in the comfort and beauty of the Chancellor estate. Although there are no men in her life, Nina is happy with her peace of mind and the happiness she has achieved thanks to Katherine and her love for her son. Her tranquility, however, is abruptly disturbed when she receives a call from her mother, Flo, who informs her that she is moving to Genoa City intending to start a new life and is eager to show her daughter the changes she has made and her commitment to improving day by day. Nina is skeptical to believe that her mother has put aside alcohol and clients; however, she is genuinely impressed to see her mother in a new and sober guise. Katherine is delighted to meet the woman and decides to host her at her place to be near her daughter and Chance. Flo, however, surprises everyone by informing Nina that she already has a house in Genoa City, since she is living with her new man whom she will soon marry: Jim Adams. Nina is shocked to learn that her mother has found a man, and even more shocked to learn that they will soon be married. Flo introduces Jim to Nina and Katherine, who, however, can't even imagine the truth, that Jim is none other than David, evidently restored by a second operation, as well as by a dye job on the hair and moustache he has grown. David in fact, having put aside his affair with Diane, is back on track to finish his job left half done, that is to take the Chancellors' money and kill Nina and Katherine. Obviously, all this is not suspected by Flo, who is hopelessly in love with the man who has suddenly fallen into her life and who has overwhelmed her with romance and love; and Nina doesn't suspect it either, given the great understanding she has with Jim. On the day of Flo and Jim's wedding, therefore, everyone is excited to celebrate this new union. But if David has changed aesthetically, he certainly hasn't changed in his character nor in his intentions; and with these, his manipulative abilities have remained intact, since in a short time he manages to convince Nina to include him and Flo among the co-beneficiaries of her wealth and that of Chance, at his death. David's plans are finally about to come true.

1991 (#14) - David and Diane's plans, staged death and facial surgery

In the meantime, David, still in the hospital, overcomes his critical condition and begins to recover. However, the man pretends to have paralysis in his legs in order to prolong his stay in the hospital and thus avoid that the doors of prison opened for him. Determined to find revenge against Nina and the Chancellors, Katherine in primis, David begins, with the help of Diane, to elaborate a plan to escape. Capturing a corpse in the hospital morgue, David manages to transport it to his room and then sets fire to the whole room. When the cops arrive at the hospital, they assume that the remains of the charred body found on his hospital bed belong to David and dismiss the case as a suicide. Nina, Katherine and Christine are happy that David is dead, relieved that that chapter of their lives is finally over. However, David is not dead at all and is now free to run away with Diane undisturbed. In order to remain inconspicuous, however, David is aware that he must change his identity and to do so he decides to approach a disbarred plastic surgeon, Dr. Brian Ringle, to have a total facial makeover. David exuberantly asks to look like the actor David Husselhoff and forces the doctor to operate on him, but the surgeon, who is aware of David's evil intentions having recognized him, decides to reconstruct the man's face leaving him a souvenir on his forehead, that is sculpting the word "murderer". Having done this, while David is still under anesthesia and before he can wake up, he decides to escape leaving his traces.

1991 (#9) - The meeting with Flo, the trial for attempted murder and Nina's acquittal

When the police and doctors arrive at Nina and David's house, the scenario that unfolds before their eyes is shocking. David is lying on the ground in a pool of blood, under the petrified eyes of Nina, who is still holding the gun. David is rushed to the hospital, while Nina is taken to the police station for questioning and charged by prosecutor Glenn Richards for attempted murder. Katherine and Jill rush to the police station, where they obtain the woman's immediate release on bail pending the trial. Nina doesn't say a word and decides to remain silent despite Jill and Katherine's questions, shocked by what has happened but inside happy to have finally closed this dangerous chapter of their lives. Both try to console Nina, assuring her that they are convinced she will be acquitted since it was self-defense, and they set about contacting their lawyers. Nina, however, is more confused than ever, and upon hearing the news that David is still alive, she instinctively takes Chance and decides to leave. Leaving the city, the woman goes with little Chance to his mother, Flo, in search of help. Flo is astonished but at the same time happy to see Nina again after all these years, who doesn't mention anything about what happened. From Nina's cold attitude, it soon becomes clear that she never had much of a relationship with her mother, and it doesn't take long to understand why, as Nina soon realizes that Flo has never changed in all these years; her mother, in fact, still continues to drink and work as a prostitute. Meanwhile, Jill, Katherine and Christine panic when they can't find Chance or Nina. Realizing that the woman has escaped, Christine sets out on her trail and, suspecting that she may have gone to her mother's, runs to her. Flo, meanwhile, is displeased by Nina's sudden decision to leave; her repeated promises to change her life are obviously not believed by Nina, who feels trapped and does not want to raise Chance in that environment. Determined to escape to Mexico to start a new life and in search of safety, Nina is tracked down by Christine just as she is about to get back in the car. Christine eventually manages to convince Nina to do the right thing, certain that in the end her innocence will come out despite all the trouble she has gotten into. Back in town, Nina is then taken to jail to await her trial, where she testifies that she shot in self-defense and makes a heartfelt plea to be given the chance to raise her son. The hard work of Katherine's lawyer, Rick Dooley, who point by point pitted David's criminal life, eventually convinces the jurors of David's dangerousness and evil intentions, thus acquitting Nina, found not guilty, who explodes from joy and happiness along with Christine, Jill and Katherine.

1991 (#4) - The discovery of the lies, Nina's shock and the shooting with David

Despite all of David's manipulations, Nina is still unaware of her husband's real intentions and, more in love with him than ever, is more and more determined to continue her marriage. The constant warnings of Christine, Danny, Katherine and Jill, however, slowly begin to break through her mind, and she begins to be suspicious of David. Arriving at David's office to surprise her, Nina, not finding the man who in the meantime is in the company of his lover Diane, begins to rummage through his papers. The woman is shocked by what she finds, or rather what she doesn't find: no documents, no papers referring to David's supposed investment company. It was all a farce. When she hears David arrive at the office in the company of his mistress, Nina then hides in a closet and is shocked to hear from her husband about his plans to take possession of the entire Chancellor fortune, if necessary even killing Nina and Chance, and run away with the money in the company of Diane far from the city. Nina, in a panic, manages to get out of the office unnoticed. Meanwhile, Christine finds out about David's affair with Diane and runs to tell Nina, finding the woman at home completely distraught and grief-stricken. Christine is happy that the woman has finally opened her eyes to the man and, before leaving her alone to think, promises to help her get rid of David. Christine, however, does not suspect the seriousness of the state of shock in which Nina has fallen. Blinded by anger and feeling betrayed, she waits for her husband's return to take her revenge. And so, when David returns home, Nina welcomes him, warning him that she has understood everything and shooting him with five shots from her newly purchased gun

1990 (#33) - Nina's trust for Chance and David's willingness to adopt

Following Danny and Christine's wedding, Scott, Nina, David, Jill and Rex also arrive in Hawaii, with the task of acting as witnesses to their wedding. None of them, however, knows that Diane, David's lover, is also present in Hawaii, forcing the man to shuttle back and forth between her and Nina; despite having risked being discovered, David manages to keep his lover's presence secret, to whom the man assures that he will soon be free to be with her. This promise seems to be really not very reassuring for Nina, leaving a glimpse of nothing good in David's intentions. David, in fact, just as Danny, Christine and Jill suspect, is exclusively interested in the Chancellors' money. When, due to a serious pollution problem, the lake where the brooch was thrown is drained, the police recover Nina's brooch, but they are unable to connect the story with David's. David, meanwhile, discovers that the Chancellor is not the only one who is interested in the money. David, in the meantime, discovers that Nina's entire inheritance has been reserved in a trust for Chance alone, in agreement with Jill and Katherine. David, therefore, realizes that the only way to get the money is to become father of little Chance. When the man confesses to Nina his desire to become Chance's adoptive father, she is enthusiastic. The project, however, finds the full and firm disapproval of Katherine and Jill who, in agreement with baby sitter Erika Finley who confirms that David has never been there for little Chance, accuse David once again of wanting to aim exclusively at Nina's dowry. Fed up with hearing accusations against David, Nina then informs David's detractors that it is her intention to leave Genoa City with David and Chance if they didn't stop accusing David. When Jill and Katherine point out that David has done nothing to disprove them, at this point it is Nina herself who asks David for proof that will silence and discourage Jill and Katherine from accusing him, which forces David to agree to give up the adoption. At this point, only one thing can allow him to get to the money: killing both Nina and Chance.

1990 (#30) - Danny's innocence and his wedding in Hawaii to Christine

In prison, Danny defends himself, and everyone, Christine first, is convinced that the boy was set up. Brought to trial, Danny finds out from his lawyer that he could be released from prison due to a technicality, since the police raid, led by Detective Salena, took place without a search warrant and, therefore, is not valid and cannot be entered into the record. Danny, however, decides with great courage to give up the possibility of taking advantage of this shortcut, wanting to be acquitted for not having committed the fact. The judge therefore reopens the case and in the end, Danny succeeds in his intent and thanks to Christine's testimony he is released. The woman, in fact, says she remembers that Danny received a bouquet of flowers the night of the concert where he was arrested; and she says she suspects that the cocaine might have been brought by the florist. The discovery of his uniform in the air hoses dispelled all doubt, proving that Danny was framed. Overjoyed to have proved his innocence, Christine and Danny embrace for a long time and, suddenly, decide that they don't want to be apart anymore and that they don't want to wait to get married, after so many postponements; therefore, they hurriedly organize their wedding, which they decide to celebrate in the exclusive, idyllic and paradisiacal scenery of the Hawaiian Islands, where the two young people exchange their wedding vows.

1990 (#28) - David's pin and the false drug charges against Danny

Vivian's sudden death leaves everyone in Genoa City stunned and filled with grief, especially Chase, who has never hidden his feelings for the woman. The man, therefore, promises Vivian to continue her battle and to find out everything about the death of her friend Rebecca; he then decides to confide to Christine his suspicions about David, linked not only to the similarity of the photo, but also to the brooch given to Nina. Both Christine and Danny recognize the brooch and are absolutely convinced of David's danger and of the need to intervene immediately. Danny decides to travel to New Jersey with Chase and Christine, who manage to identify the jeweler where the brooch was purchased, who confirms that it belonged to Rebecca. Knowing that many people are digging into his past, David decides to act again, this time to stop Danny. David thus decides to frame him by placing a baggie containing cocaine in his dressing room. After being tipped off with an anonymous call, which David is certain was made by David, the police raid Danny's dressing room and, under the astonished eyes of all, arrest him on drug dealing charges despite Christine's bewilderment and protests.

1990 (#20) - David's dark past, Rebecca's murder, and Vivian's slaying

Among the many lies that David hides from Nina, there is also the one about his work activity. Nina, in fact, is convinced that her husband owns and manages an important investment company, David A. Kimble Investments; and it is precisely the fact that he owns an important financial company that calms Nina down about the accusations about the man's alleged designs on her wealth. Jill's suspicions about this phantom financial company, however, are well justified, since in reality the company has never had any clients and the whole thing is a cover-up. The only employee of this company, moreover, is Diane Westin who, officially a secretary and mail sorter, is actually David's attractive lover. Diane, meanwhile, is surprised to recognize in a man named Tom Harper, whose photograph is in the newspaper, an incredible resemblance to David, and is shocked to learn that Tom is currently a fugitive and wanted for the murder of his wealthy wife Rebecca Wordsworth. Immediately suspicious, David downplays the matter by joking with Nina, who soon forgets what happened. Meanwhile, Chase makes the acquaintance of a girl named Vivian Powell, and the two immediately like each other. After making love, the woman confesses to Chase that she is from New Jersey and has come all the way to Genoa City in search of a very dangerous man named Tom, who is guilty of murder against her best friend, Rebecca. When Chase sees the photo of Tom and Rebecca, he is shocked to recognize David in Tom; however, even more disturbingly, Rebecca is wearing the same brooch in the photo that David gave to Nina. Chase then informs Vivian of the discovery and they both agree that they need to intervene as soon as possible, since Nina is seriously risking her own life. When Chase goes to ask David directly, David denies having given Nina a brooch, and then throws the brooch into a lake, making Nina think she has lost it. Determined to prove David's guilt, after Chase assures him that Nina possesses an identical brooch, Vivian sneaks into David's apartment in search of the jewel, in vain. However, she is noticed by David who, realizing that his past is in danger and may soon surface again, decides to take action and kills Vivian, causing the woman to be electrocuted while taking a bath.

1990 (#15) - Jill's doubts, threats to Christine, Nina and David's marriage

With Danny's return from his recent concert tour, the relationship between the man and Christine becomes more and more solid, to the point that neither of them can now imagine their lives without the other. The two begin to make plans to spend the rest of their lives together. During this time, Christine is living in her apartment with Nina, having been kicked out of her estate by Katherine because of her dating David. Neither Katherine nor Jill, in fact, approve of Nina's relationship with the charming but in many ways obscure David, convinced that the man only plans to take advantage of Nina's huge inheritance who, after Phillip's death, has become the one designated to take control of the Chancellor's immense estate. When David surprisingly proposes to Nina to become his wife, she accepts enthusiastically, convinced of his sincere feelings. Christine, however, seems to have the same doubts as Jill about the man, who shows a very violent aspect of himself when he intimates to the woman not to meddle in his affairs if he doesn't want to see his beautiful face ruined, which would obviously prevent him from working at Jabot. Christine, scandalized by the threat, takes David's words seriously and, very worried, runs to confide everything to Jill who, worried that David could become dangerous for her and especially for little Chance, orders him to leave Nina's life. Nina, however, blinded by her love for David, refuses to heed all of Jill, Danny and Christione's warnings, and is even annoyed by their meddling. In an effort to convince everyone, especially Jill, of the genuineness of his feelings for Nina, David signs a prenuptial agreement in which he agrees to renounce all of Nina's possessions, which are otherwise endangered by Katherine's, aka Marge's, sale of her empire. The two of them, shortly after, get married, even if very few people want to celebrate. What is worse, is that David, some time later, convinces Nina to tear up their prenuptial agreement, in exchange for a beautiful golden brooch.

1989 (#21) - David's sights towards Nina and Christine's return with Danny

Put aside by Jill, who preferred him to Michael, David doesn't let go of his soul. The ambitions and aims of the man, always looking for an economic breakthrough, soon turn to a much easier and more attractive target, like the young widow Nina. This one, still shaken and saddened by the death of Phillip Jr., who is unable to forget, is soon put under David's sight, lured by the lavish and immense patrimony of the Chancellors to whom Nina is entitled because of her marriage to Phillip Jr. But a wounded and naive Nina does not think about all this, finding herself completely enamored by the savoir faire of the cynical but fascinating David. When Nina tells Jill that she's starting to date David, she can't believe it and advises the woman to immediately break up with the man. Nina, however, is annoyed by Jill's constant intimations and informs the woman that nothing will separate him from David, who in the meantime is warned by Jill herself that she will not allow him to achieve his goals. Christine and Danny also try to reason with Nina, worried about the fragility of the girl after the death of Phillip Jr.; Nina, however, does not accept advice even from her friend and refuses to listen to and account for the constant warnings that David is a dangerous man and that he aims exclusively at Katherine's estate. Christine, meanwhile, returns to get closer to Danny. After having to break the story with Scott, and still shaken by Derek's rape, Christine approaches Danny again, admitting that she regrets leaving him and is now aware that he is the right man for her. The man, who has always hoped for the girl's return, welcomes her with open arms, overjoyed that her dream has once again come true.

1989 (#10) - Jill's tumultuous love life

Although she has been seeing David for a few months now, Jill is not at all satisfied with his relationship; on the other hand, the man does nothing to gain the woman's trust, giving the woman the opportunity to make her suspect that David's interest is more focused on economic than emotional interests. The same suspicions are nourished by Jack, who over time has become a real adviser for the woman, who does not hide his concerns about David's career ambitions; finally getting a job as an assistant, in fact, David does not stop lobbying upwards by constantly asking the woman to act as an intermediary with Jack to obtain a position of high responsibility at Jabot. Jill, completely fed up with the situation, then seeks comfort in her former Michael Crawford, promising the man to obtain for him the complete legal management of the company. Michael, however, informs Jill that he is happily engaged with sweet Mandy Kemper, appearing reluctant to get back with the woman who once dumped him to be with David, with whom he is now breaking up. Convinced that Jill is a real man-hunter, Michael tries to talk him out of the woman's advances, even if he is eventually forced to give in to the passion. So he decides to end his relationship with Mandy and start a new relationship with Jill, who in the meantime has been left by David for the joy of Jack, who fires him. However, Jill's tumultuous love life seems to find no peace and stability, as Jack also opposes this woman's relationship, being jealous of Jill and thus proving to be more than just a counselor for the woman. It's enough for Michael to bitterly regret the choice, so he decides to immediately break up with Jill and go back to Mandy, who, however, has no intention of forgiving Michael's escapades, claiming to have already forgotten him. In all this, Jill finds herself once again alone, but at least with the knowledge that neither David nor Michael, nor even a megalomaniac like Jack, could ever be men suitable for her and her needs.

1988 (#28) - The face-off between Jack and Jill, David's intentions, Chase's ambitions

Jack's takeover of the Jabot gives a strong jolt to the whole company. After Brittany's investigation on his behalf has been shelved, the boy finally wants to prove to his father that he has become a man and has matured to the point of deserving a position of leadership, to the point of making him proud of him. It is in this context that Jill, much more controlled than the previous management, has to deal with two parallel events that, although part of her non-working life, intertwine with it. The first story is the one concerning Jill's love life after the failed attempt to conquer Rex. From this point of view, there is a resumption of the relationship between Jill and David, a relationship seen in a bad eye by Jack, worried that David's intentions are directed more to Jabot than to the woman's love. And although Jill tells Jack not to meddle in his private life, it must be said that the man is not wrong at all. David, in fact, is much more greedy and double-crossed than before; and not at all intent on falling in love with Jill, to whom he has never forgiven the fact that he was so easily dumped, David is still lying about having feelings for the woman just to get into her good graces and get a Jabot job that Jack has no intention of giving him. Another issue that divides Jill from Jack is that of Chase. If in fact before, the boy was well seen by Brad, now Jack is much more suspicious of him. Then failed his deal with Jill to seduce Nina, the boy's role within the company has been greatly reduced. And despite Jill's incitement and exhortation not to abandon the idea of conquering Nina, his interest soon turned to Christine, who was left alone after the breakup with Philipp Jr. There are many obstacles to achieving her goal; in fact, on the one hand Jill invites him not to date the woman she believes is destined for her son Philipp, and on the other hand there is a Danny who openly intends to win back the girl's heart.

1988 (#8) - Jill's advances and the prenup between Rex and Katherine

The discovery of Rex's identity leaves both Katherine and Jill very surprised. Both now see the man with different eyes and in a different light. Rex apologizes to Katherine for not being completely honest with her, but he feels compelled to make it up to her, not hiding the fact that this very episode, which made him risk losing her, made him realize how much he cares about her and he fears the end of their relationship. Rex then understands that he begins to have sincere and pure feelings for Katherine; a relationship that, he hopes, could convince Gina and Danny that their father has actually changed. But the episode triggers something especially in Jill, who finds herself inexplicably attracted to Rex as the days go by. Probably for her sweet and humble ways, probably out of a simple sense of jealousy towards her bitter enemy Katherine, the fact is that Jill, from paying Rex to be with another woman, now wants nothing more than to convince the man to be with her. Rex, however, has no intention whatsoever of making yet another mistake in his life and letting a mature and judicious woman like Katherine slip through his fingers; on the other hand, he has seen and known far too many fascinating and dangerous women like Jill, until he is fed up with them. This is obviously not known to Jill, who dumps the handsome David, whose relationship has never really worked out, to start seducing Rex. When Katherine discovers Jill's intentions, the man's reassurances do not avoid a furious, yet another fight with the historical enemy. Rex, meanwhile, determined to commit himself to Katherine, tells Jill that he wants to immediately break their agreement to seduce Katherine. Hearing these words, convinced that Rex is now hers, Jill seems enthusiastic; but the woman makes a big mistake, being strongly disappointed when the man reveals that he has fallen in love with Katherine and that he intends to ask her to marry him. At this point, however, it is Katherine who seems uncertain about taking such a step; having spoken with Danny, in fact, the woman seems to be convinced that Rex intends to cheat her. But Rex finally manages to persuade the woman of his genuineness of his feelings, showing her a prenuptial agreement that he intends to make with her where it is established that Rex, in case of divorce, would receive the symbolic share of one dollar without the possibility of being able to recriminate anything before a judge. Faced with this proposal, Katherine thus begins to realize how Rex loves her in a genuine and sincere way, and therefore decides to enthusiastically accept her proposal of marriage.

1988 (#2) - The deal with Jill and the discovery of Rex's true identity

When Rex informs David and Jill that he no longer wants to date a greedy and hysterical woman like Katherine, Jill, in order to convince the man to continue seeing his bitter enemy, promises Rex to pay him. Rex, not understanding why Jill insists on continuing this farce, appears skeptical, but in the end accepts willingly when Jill presents him with a written agreement. Not satisfied, Jill tries to do everything possible to embarrass Katherine, persuading her to publicly expose her relationship with the man, in the hope of making her look bad because she is seeing a former tramp. So she organizes a double date at Gina's, convinced that there is definitely someone who will recognize Rex next to the woman. No one, however, has any idea what is going to happen that night. As soon as Gina sees Jill and runs to say hello, she is completely shocked to see her, David and Katherine together with her father Brian! In total dismay, Rex then explains that he is actually Gina and Danny's father and that he has changed his identity, since he was once called Brian Romalotti. Gina then explains that Rex has been in prison several times and that he is famous for being called "the wizard of the scam". The statement leaves everyone speechless, and when Gina does to escape, Rex runs after her in an attempt to explain the situation. So Rex reaches Gina asking her forgiveness for all his past mistakes, saying that he is now on a new path and has returned to Genoa City to meet the only thing that matters to him now: his children. Rex, therefore, confesses to Gina that he hopes for a reconciliation just when Danny arrives, incredulous to find himself in front of the person he hated the most all these years: his father. Rex promises them that he will show them that he has changed and, in the meantime, he won't ask them anything or interfere with their lives if they don't want to. These words perplex Gina, who seems to be touched by her encounter with Rex, while apparently they don't upset Danny at all, always skeptical that his father has really changed, saying that he will only bring trouble.

1987 (#22) - Jill and David's relationship, Katherine's encounter with the homeless Rex

While both Jill and Katherine are busy mothering young Phillip Jr., struggling with his alcohol abuse problems, tensions between the two women have certainly not lessened. As mentioned before, Jill harshly criticizes Katherine's lifestyle, which led to Phillip Jr. entering the alcohol tunnell. However, Jill's hatred for Katherine has many other motivations, certainly much more deeply rooted in the past. In the meantime, after Michael's relationship with Jill has ended, it's not long before Jill finds herself back. This time the woman's eyes are focused on her personal assistant at Jabot, David Kimble, a very smart and far-sighted businessman who starts flirting with the woman in the hope of obtaining financial as well as sentimental benefits. The always beautiful and attractive Jill, after all, is an interesting woman for David in every way and, thanks also to his muscles, Jill doesn't take long to fall in love with him. Jill is also attracted by David's mysterious and charming character, who tries to take on all the problems of his new girlfriend. Among them, there is certainly Katherine, to whom Jill would like to give a good lesson, after she tried to approach her to Skip with the sole purpose of making her separate from Michael and have judicial advantages. It is David, at this point, who takes the initiative, suggesting to Jill to repay Katherine with the same coin by introducing an absolutely unpresentable man to her in order to make her lose credibility and get discredit in her exclusive environment. David and Jill, thus, design a plan as sneaky as it is cruel to get Katherine to fall in love with a tramp. The opportunity presents itself when the two meet a tramp sleeping on a bench in the Genoa City park, a man named Rex Sterling, whom Jill finds perfect for the plan. Even with David's help, Jill turns Rex into a presentable man with the prospect of getting a hot meal back, and arranges a date with Katherine for him. The date initially seems pleasant until Katherine, realizing she is having dinner with a homeless man, leaves the table disgusted and horrified. The man, left at the restaurant without being able to pay, becomes furious with Katherine and the next day shows up at the estate to complain about it. After some hesitation, Katherine lets him in and begins to glimpse in him a man who is anything but unwise. The prospect of getting into the good graces of such a rich woman, in fact, entices Rex, who in a few weeks manages to get into the good graces of the woman, with whom he undertakes a relationship full of passion.
