1986 (#24) - Phillip Jr.'s blood donation and Jack's indictment

While Carl and Salena are busy investigating who shot Jill, she continues to struggle between life and death with Michael at her side praying for her. Informed by Dr. Joseph Lerner that Jill needs a blood donor as soon as possible, Katherine decides to bring Jill's son, Phillip Jr., back to Genoa City so he can stand by his mother and give blood. To the amazement of Katherine and Michael, however, the boy is very angry with his mother and quite upset, refusing to donate blood and confessing that he does not care about Jill, and whether or not she will survive. Katherine, certainly not Jill's best friend, convinces Phillip Jr. to do the right thing, but at the same time she is very worried about how little Phillip Jr. grew up, who has obviously suffered a lot from Jill's absence, who has always been much more committed to getting money and power by moving from one bed to another, rather than raising and educating her son. In any case, Carl's investigation to find the culprit continues and the policeman has four major suspects, all people who may have a grudge against Jill in some way. The first of these is John, who is still suffering from the recent divorce; Katherine, Jill's sworn enemy; and Jack, who believes that his life has been ruined by the woman; finally, some leads also lead to Christian Letiaff, the French chemist who worked for Jill for the Men's Line and who, evidently, hasn't paid yet. The turning point happens when the results of the analysis of the gun arrive, which clearly show Jack's fingerprints. He is thus charged with attempted murder and arrested, making John's incredulity towards his son, who he can no longer recognize or look at his face.
