Following her not-so-happy idea to publish nude photos of Paul, as it is easy to imagine, Amy is fired by Lauren and soon decides to leave town. However, when Amy returns for a short stay in the city, she does not fail to stop by and say goodbye to her old friend Paul. He is surprised to see the girl again, who after listening to his unfortunate experience with Lauren herself predicts that the man will soon find a new love, wondering if his new secretary, Lynne Bassett, might be the right woman for him. After all, Lynne soon becomes a fundamental friend and confidant of Paul's, but he does not realize that the girl inside him has feelings for him without having the courage to express them. Paul, on the other hand, has been very burned by the end of his relationship with Lauren and feels he still has to wait for the right moment to fall in love with a woman again. Paul, moreover, has no intention of going back to the past, rejecting the approach of an always sensual Lauren who, after receiving Brad's kiss off, does not fail to tempt him, vainly, several times. However, Paul's life changes radically when he meets the charming and attractive Cassandra Hall at an art exhibition, an interior decorator who cannot get out of his mind. Paul, therefore, does everything to see the woman, even taking an interest in an interior design course held by Cassandra herself, to whom he asks to remake his office. After a few months spent together, an uncontrollable passion arises between the two when Paul, with the excuse of asking the woman for help to renovate his apartment, they end up making love. Lauren does her best to attract Paul's attention, but he now has only eyes for Cassandra, with whom he admits he has fallen in love. So it's not long before Paul decides to propose to Cassandra to become his wife, which obviously leaves both Carl and especially Mary, worried that her son is moving too fast.

1987 (#14) - The scandal of Paul's photos and the end of Lauren's tormented affair
When the editor of the magazine, Susan Brown, calls Lauren to congratulate her on her victory, she is astonished, believing it to be a mistake. Amy, then, admits her responsibility and Lauren, sure that Paul would not agree at all with the choice to appear in such a newspaper, is convinced to refuse the prize. However, she changes her mind when Susan informs her that the prize is also $10,000, which convinces her to accept instinctively. Meanwhile, a very happy Paul informs his family and Lauren that Mayor Jim Cooper has decided to award him in a public ceremony for his fight against prostitution and pornography. It is at this moment, then, that Lauren realizes that Paul's reputation would be ridiculed if his photos were published; bitterly regretting having accepted the award, Lauren immediately contacts Susan to stop the magazine's press, but it is too late. Lauren's extreme attempt was to use the prize money to buy back all the copies of the magazine; but despite all Nathan and Amy's efforts, the photos spread, so much so that some girls complimented Paul's bold poses right in front of the official lunch with the mayor and two upset Paul and Mary. Completely angry and enraged, Paul decides to end the relationship despite Lauren's vain attempts to make peace and be forgiven. In the end, the two agreed that the best solution was to remain simply good friends.

1985 (#11) - The farewell between Tyrone and Alana, Nathan's work, the story with Amy
The most beautiful day of Alana's life, her wedding day, turned into the worst day of her life in a few hours. Alana learns from a discouraged Robert that her father has been killed, then tells her the whole truth about both her father's true business and her true identity. Alana is completely shocked and incredulous at the words of the man who now says his name is Tyrone and not Robert, and cannot believe anything she is told. In the end, however, Alana has to surrender to the evidence of the facts; and mad with grief and shaken by the deception of what her husband has become, Alana becomes furious and takes vent with him, going so far as to shoot him in the arm. Taken to the hospital, Alana immediately rushes to him, apologizing to him and showing herself willing to accept the whole situation, having realized that she is still in love with him; Tyrone, however, while admitting that a part of him will love Alana forever, confesses to the woman he believes, for his sake, to get out of his life forever. In the meantime, the trial of Joseph's gang begins, where among the witnesses also Nathan appears, who, unlike the other members of the gang, is not accused since he enjoys the immunity reserved for collaborators of justice. At the end of the trial, the entire gang is dismembered, arrested and sentenced, to the delight of Andy, Jazz and Tyrone. Nathan, eager for redemption and to finally work with justice to atone for his many sins committed during the years he participated in Joseph's gang, asks Paul to join his detective agency. Despite Jazz's initial resistance and Paul's own doubts, in the end Nathan shows that he deserves the man's trust and, convinced that Nathan has really changed and wants to redeem himself, welcomes him with open arms. After Alana's departure, Tyrone visits Amy, hoping for a reconciliation between them, but she shows little interest in Tyrone, having started a relationship with Nathan. Amy, in fact, was very impressed by the story of the man, who has always lived in the bad company that has repressed his good and kind soul; realizing that the man is also illiterate, Amy promises him to teach him to read and write, soon falling in love with him. The relationship, however, does not last long, as Amy soon decides to leave town to follow and take care of her father Frank, who is about to retire and intends to leave for Florida.

1985 (#7) - Tyrone and Alana's marriage and Joseph's fatal shooting
Robert's plan to infiltrate Joseph's criminal structure has succeeded perfectly, so much so that Tyrone receives compliments from Jazz and Andy, as well as from his colleague Jared Markson and detective Jim Mc Castor, with whom Tyrone is in constant contact. The only problem is that, as time goes by, Tyrone is really falling in love with Alana, with whom he has also been sharing an apartment for some time now. When Joseph sees the young couple kissing, they admit their passion for each other and announce their official engagement to their father. As is tradition in his family, therefore, Joseph urges Robert and Alana to set the wedding date, which the two young and impatient lovers set two weeks later. Jazz and Andy are shocked when they learn that Tyrone has gone so far as to get so involved, and the news of the upcoming wedding does not please Amy, who is now increasingly distant from the man she loves and feels she has lost. Jazz warns his brother about the danger of his situation, but Tyrone is more convinced than ever in his mission, assuring Jazz and Andy that he won't be distracted by his personal involvement with Alana. He informs the two of the help that Kong, Nathan, will be able to give him, and of the fact that he considers it necessary to take advantage of Joseph's marriage and absence to enter the office and look for the papers and evidence of his misdeeds. Jazz and Andy are happy with Tyrone's work, especially when he shows up with a copy of Joseph's office keys. Tyrone is also hoping that his relationship with Alana will continue, as he is now truly in love with her, although he is sure that she could hardly forgive him. On the day of the ceremony, while Alana and Robert's wedding ceremony is taking place in church, Andy and Jazz enter Joseph's office in search of important papers and documents. Unfortunately, Andy stumbles upon a remote control alarm system that immediately closes the door and sucks the oxygen out of the room. And so, while Jazz and Andy lose consciousness due to lack of oxygen, an emotional Alana takes her vows in front of an uptight Robert; meanwhile, as soon as the two are declared husband and wife, Joseph quickly leaves the Church having received the alarm signal, immediately followed by an agitated Robert, who understands that something must have happened. Alana, completely confused and disoriented, is thus left in the church with all the guests who run over her to wish her all the best. Meanwhile, a frantic race develops to reach the Anthony clan's lair; the police on one side, trying to get there before it's too late, to save Jazz and Andy, and Joseph and his henchmen on the other, followed immediately by Robert. It is Joseph who arrives first, finding Andy and Jazz unconscious. And just when the execution of the two, waking up when they are already tied to a chair, it now seems a certainty that the police will break in to save them. A furious shooting ensues in which Robert reveals himself as an infiltrator under the disappointed and incredulous eyes of Joseph, who is shot dead by Nathan, who saves Robert's life.

1985 (#2) - Tyrone's disguise, his relationship with Alana and Nathan
With the disappearance of his identity within Joseph's criminal gang, having his own death thanks to the help of his brother Jazz, the young law student Tyrone is forced to take on a new disguise in order to continue his investigations. Despite Jazz strongly advises him not to persist in his mission to infiltrate the clan and destroy the Anthony gang, being too dangerous. Tyrone, he doesn't listen to reason and this time he is determined more than ever not to make anything suspicious about him, since he even intends to become a white man. Andy and Jazz are stunned by Tyrone's disguise and makeup, which is almost unrecognizable by the two; Tyrone confirms to the two that he will infiltrate under Robert's name, and this certainly does not please Amy, still hiding in a convent and still in love with the young man. Not knowing how to act at first, Tyrone, alias Robert, was immediately lucky since he met, almost by chance, Alana Anthony, Joseph's beautiful young daughter. There was immediately a great harmony between the two and so Tyrone realizes that all he has to do is pretend to fall in love with Alana to get closer to Joseph and his organization. Educated in Switzerland, Alana had been protected and kept hidden from the family business, so much so that she didn't know in what kind of business her father was really involved in and thought he was running an export company. Not being aware of Alana's father's criminal activities, at first Tyrone almost considered giving up the mission, since he did not want to create problems to Alana; soon, however. Tyrone becomes aware of Alana's interest in Robert and decides to continue his plan. Alana and Robert share so many good moments together, and when Robert tells Alana that he has lost his job as a real estate agent, just as he wanted Alana to do, she promises to put in a good word with his father to get him into his company. Noting the deep affection that has developed between the two young people, Joseph offers Robert, unaware that he is Tyrone, a position in his export company, a job that Robert readily accepts. Having joined the gang from the start as Joseph's advisor, he was quick to reveal to him the true nature of their organization, whose legal component focused on exports is very small; Robert shows no problem doing that kind of work, and Joseph, then, is delighted to welcome him into what he calls his family. In this period, thus, Robert becomes a sort of precious adviser for Joseph and also makes the acquaintance of Nathan Hastings, an important figure of the gang, where he is called Kong, who soon becomes his ally.

1984 (#31) - The story between Amy and Tyrone and the investigation into Joseph
Among the Jackson brothers, since their first meeting since Tyrone's return, it is clear that their esteem and cordiality has never faded; and to prove it, it was the admirable gesture of Jazz, who renounced his acquaintance with Amy seeing the mutual interest between her and Tyrone. What Tyrone doesn't know about his brother, however, is that Jazz is currently working undercover, under the false name of Leon Monroe, with the aim of infiltrating the mafia organization of the powerful Joseph Anthony. At the same time, Tyrone finds himself, along with another man named Jared Markson, collaborating with the county prosecutor's office, Gregory Bredford, who is conducting an investigation into Joseph's illegal activity. When Joseph warns Jazz that he wants to know more about the prosecutor's investigation into him, Jazz is shocked to learn that Tyrone himself is involved in the case. Jazz initially lies to Joseph, saying that he is aware that the investigation is a simple hoax whose news has been spread precisely to put pressure on the organization, waiting for a mistake that will lead to Joseph. He doesn't trust Gregory, however, knowing his investigative skills; and so he manages to identify one of the many curious people Jazz understands to be his brother Tyrone, whom it would be better to get rid of. In spite of Jazz's advice to Joseph about the need not to take any spectacular demonstrative actions, with the risk that they might be discovered, Joseph feels no reason and orders Jazz to infiltrate the prosecutor's office to install bugs and hand over some documents. Jazz succeeds and hands the material over to Joseph, hoping that no further demands will be made that could endanger him and Tyrone. Tyrone, in turn, starts working undercover and joins Joseph's organization as a street drug dealer. It is at this point that Jazz reveals, putting his life in danger, the whole truth to Tyrone about the investigation he is carrying out. Shocked to learn that Jazz has infiltrated the criminal gang that Tyrone himself is working for, they both agree that it is necessary to cheat Joseph. These, meanwhile, having noticed the fact that Leon seems to know Tyrone, whom he does not trust at all, order Leon to get rid of them, convinced that he is a spy. Tyrone and Jazz, then, agree to stage the killing using the corpse of a gangster, whose face is now unrecognizable after a shooting, posing as Tyrone. Fortunately, Joseph falls into the trap of Jazz a.k.a. Leon, who thus acquires new confidence in the man. Jazz and Tyrone breathe a sigh of relief, agreeing that from this moment on, Tyrone will have to stay out of this affair, otherwise risking very serious trouble. Tyrone is hiding in a convent, the same one Amy had been hiding in for some time, very happy to find Tyrone alive.

1984 (#26) - Amy's hiring, Jazz's feelings and Tyrone's arrival
Meanwhile, at his private detective agency, Paul complains about the need to hire a secretary that stays in the office so he could have more freedom to carry out his investigations. Jazz, then, asks Paul to hire the beautiful Amy Lewis as his secretary, having been fascinated by her beauty during Danny's concert. Amy, who has no intention of pursuing a hypothetical career as a singer, accepts Jazz's proposal to work in his agency, having always been fascinated by the police world. Paul is also happy to have in the agency the daughter of department commander Frank Lewis, with whom he now has a wonderful relationship. Soon, the Jazz's feelings for Amy became more and more explicit until he declared his feelings. Jazz and Amy, then, began to hang out, until Jazz's brother, Tyrone Jackson, arrived in town. Jazz and Tyrone, who no one would have ever said they were brothers because Tyrone is completely black and Jazz is only mulatto, haven't seen each other for years, although Jazz has always cared a lot about his younger brother. Jazz is happy to hear from his brother that he's about to become a prosecutor, having reached the end of his law school career. However, Tyrone makes no secret of his financial problems, and Jazz agrees to allow him to finish law school by paying his last remaining university fees. From the first meeting with Tyrone, Amy is literally annihilated by the beauty of the man, who soon, with Jazz's approval, starts dating the girl, who thus becomes his girlfriend.

1984 (#15) - Danny and Traci's benefit concert and the arrest of Vinnie and Sparky
Under interrogation, Traci admits she has become addicted to diet pills, but she says nothing about the drugs and the drug ring set up by the drug dealers Vinnie and Sparky. After all, it was Sparky himself who warned Traci not to say anything about him, and even to not show up as his friend so as not to arouse suspicion. Carl, however, begins to understand the boy's role in the affair and eventually manages to come up with a confession from Traci, who agrees to cooperate. Thanks to Traci's help, then, Carl manages to reconstruct the role of the boy and Vinnie in the drug ring in college and among the boys in general; trafficking all linked and controlled by organized crime. Meanwhile Danny, feeling strongly guilty about what happened to the girl, gets very close to her, which disappoints Lauren. Danny and Traci agree on the fact that they have to send a clear message against drugs and decide to engage in a huge concert with the aim of a fundraiser against this plague; charity concert in which the famous singer Mavis Mac Donald also participates. Lauren, increasingly jealous of Traci, understands that only by rejecting Traci in her tunnel she could get a free pass on Danny and agrees with Sparky and Vinnie to drug Traci behind the stage before the concert, a plan that Gina and the chorus girl Amy Lewis, daughter of police chief Frank, begin to understand when they see Lauren talking to Sparky. Lauren's plans soon fail when Carl, having followed Sparky to the event, prevents any chance for the man to get close to Traci. Thanks also to Gina's supervision and organization, the concert proves to be a huge success, which leads Danny and Traci to become more and more attracted. Noticing Traci talking to Carl just off stage, Sparky understands everything about the girl's double-cross and instinctively decides, encouraged by Vinnie, to kidnap both her and Danny. Brought into a basement, Vinnie turns out to be the real mind of the group; when Vinnie orders Sparky to kill the two, Sparky refuses, starting a fight with the woman, who is nothing but jealous of Sparky over her alleged attraction to Traci. In the end, thanks to Carl's intervention and Sparky's refusal to kill the two, Traci and Danny are saved, to the joy of John who first rushes to embrace his daughter. Traci thanks Sparky for saving her life, and promises that he will try as hard as he can to get him a reduced sentence.
