1974 (#4) - Jill’s job as aesthetician, Katherine’s proposal and the Chancellor family

Jill meanwhile continues to work hard as a beautician in a beauty salon to support her family. During her hard days at work, she befriends the wealthy Katherine Chancellor, who comes from a wealthy family. Her father Robert Shepard had a textile business and her mother Jeanne Clarke was a renowned teacher, former schoolmate and close friend of Stuart Brooks. Katherine Chancellor is the wife of Phillip Chancellor, owner of the famous Chancellor Industries. This industrial empire, founded by his father, Phil Chancellor (formally Phillip I Chancellor), is now in the hands of Phillip (formally Phillip II Chancellor) and is one of the largest businesses in Genoa City. Jill is thrilled to meet Katherine; her mother Liz, in fact, is a Chancellor Industries employee and Jill hopes in her heart that meeting such an important person will help their financial condition. Katherine, immediately notices the skills and sympathy that the girl seems to show her, appreciating her kindness and company, proposes to work for her as her personal assistant. Jill is enthusiastic about the proposal and this allows her to be transported to a world that is completely unknown to her, she observes in amazement the wealth of the Chancellor family and the incredible luxury of their villa and promises, one day, to become a person who can afford all of this for herself.
