1994 (#8) - The breakup with cheerleader Amy and Nicholas' infatuation with Sharon

After spending a few years studying in Europe, young Nicholas, Victor and Nikki's second son, returns to Genoa City. Nikki is happy that Victor has accepted her request to interrupt Nicholas' studies in the old continent to finish it in the city, so that she can be closer to their son. In fact, they are both very happy to embrace the boy and reunite the family, an event that gives Nikki hope that she can get closer to Victor. Nicholas, just sixteen years old, is the typical restless American teenager, a bit of a braggart with a very strong and determined character. Having become immediately popular at school, Nicholas soon becomes engaged to the beautiful Amy Wilson, head cheerleader and considered by the entire high school as the most beautiful girl. Nicholas is happy and carefree with the girl; however, he is literally blown away when he meets Amy's best friend, Sharon Collins, at Crimson Light, the club owned by his friend Jay Zoller. Immediately realizing that he doesn't love Amy and has become infatuated with the shy and insecure Sharon, the instinctive Nicholas is not afraid to disappoint his girlfriend, admitting that he is not in love with her. Soon after, the boy tries to get noticed by Sharon, who is two years older than him, in vain. A lover of challenges, Nicholas begins to persistently court the girl, whose smiles and fleeting glances only increase the boy's hopes of winning her over, strengthened by Sharon's friend Alice Burnett's confirmation of the girl's interest. In the end, Nicholas, willing to take on the whole world to have her, manages to talk to Sharon, and his declaration of love ends with a passionate kiss that both of them will never forget.
