1994 (#7) - Danny and Christine's divorce and Mary and Lynne's meddling

The already fragile marriage between Danny and Christine is broken when Christine receives a letter from Danny containing divorce papers for her to sign. In the letter, in fact, Danny informs Christine that he has decided to end their relationship explaining that their paths are now irretrievably divided, announcing moreover that he has moved to start a new life. Danny adds that he hopes that Christine will agree to his decision and that, in any case, she will not feel resentment or disappointment towards him. Christine, in fact, is shocked and appalled to say the least when she reads the letter. On the one hand, in fact, she had expected that this moment would come sooner or later; on the other hand, however, she had never really considered divorcing Danny. Sad and melancholic, in the end Christine decides to sign the papers, thus making her divorce official and entrusting the file, for the last bureaucratic matters, to John Silva. Paul, as always, is there with Christine to pick up the pieces of her broken heart; and while not hiding his feelings for Christine, he assures the girl that he doesn't want to pressure her in any way, understanding her desire to be alone for some time. Not at all happy with Paul's protective attitude towards Christine, who is accused of being nothing more than a dead cat, are Lynne, who has always been deeply in love with the man, and Mary, who, as always, does not fail to put pressure and have her say about her son's love affairs. Mary and Lynne are in fact convinced that Christine is not the right girl for Paul, who in their opinion is moving too fast towards the girl, who instead needs to reflect.
