Ready to put his marriage to Ashley behind him and follow his heart, Victor proposes to Nikki to become his wife. Nikki, who after Jack's confession and outburst seems to have decided to return to her first true love, asks Victor for time to inform Jack of her decision. In the meantime, Victor, increasingly worried that his marriage could soon be over, is involved in a car accident, fortunately without serious consequences. Nikki, rushed to the hospital to visit her husband, accidentally bumps into Dr. Reese Walker who congratulates her on her pregnancy. Nikki is completely shocked and only now realizes that she is expecting Jack's baby. Suddenly, her dreams, expectations, and hopes, now convinced to return to Victor, collapse and new ones are reborn, with the knowledge that her future is with Jack and the new family they are about to form. Jack is happy to receive a visit from Nikki, who tells him the wonderful news and professes her love for him; after all, Nikki knows Jack's desire to become a father and could never deprive him of it. Not at all happy with Nikki's decision, who once again prefers Jack, is instead Victor, forced to digest a bitter pill as well as Victoria, who still strongly hoped for a reconciliation between their parents.
