1992 (#15) - Danny's plan, the invitation to Los Angeles and Michael's dismissal

Convinced that they want to prove to everyone, Hilary first, what a cold manipulator and double agent Michael is, Christine and Danny decide to devise a plan against the man. As the first part of their plan, the two decide to stage a public breakup, announcing the end of their marriage. The staging also goes on in Christine's office, where Danny and the woman fake a heated argument that Michael can't help but notice. Danny's and Christine's expectations are not long in coming, as Michael takes the bait, seizing the opportunity to take advantage of a lonely Christine and promptly showing an interest in her. When Michael proposes to go to Los Angeles for a few days on business, Christine is enthusiastic about the idea, accepting the invitation and confessing to Michael that she regrets her behavior, especially her initial rejection of his proposal. Christine then reveals to Michael that she has opened her eyes and realized that Danny has always been morbidly jealous of her, suffocating her with his constant acts of jealousy. Leaving for Los Angeles, Paul instructs the woman on how to behave and how to use the tape recorder that is to gather evidence against the man. As was predicted by Danny, once in California Michael turns into the stalker Christine has already come to know, beginning to pressure and harass the woman. Christine initially pretended to show interest in Michael but, once she gathered enough evidence, she immediately packed her bags and returned to town holding the precious tape. Michael, promptly realizing that he has been framed, immediately returns to Genoa City but, if his justifications serve to calm Hilary's apprehensions, who stubbornly continues to forgive Michael and not understand the true nature of the man, every explanation is useless in front of Calvin, who in front of this evidence can do nothing but apply their professional code of ethics and fire Michael. Christine and Danny rejoice happily, informing Michael that he will soon find a complaint on his new desk, if he even has one; however, Michael vows revenge on the woman, swearing to himself that it will not end there.
