1981 (#21) - The attraction between Jack and Patty and Carl's opposition

One night, while Patty is at Jona's to attend Danny's performance with her friend Gretchen Birton, Jack notices the girl and decides to win her over. Jack's beauty and charisma immediately strike Patty, who is electrocuted by the man, with whom she immediately falls in love. Jack, however, is disappointed when the girl refuses sexual intercourse and discovers that she is only seventeen years old. Patty, consoled by Gretchen, realizes in the meantime that she cares too much about Jack to give him up and thus assures a doubtful Jack, convinced that the girl is too immature for him, that she will soon be his. Meanwhile, the relationship between the two ends up making Jill jealous, who is certainly not going to let a girl like Patty blow her man. Jill, then, does everything she can to get in the way of their relationship; first by convincing young Danny, obviously disappointed by his loss of interest in Patty, to fight for the girl; then by informing Patty's parents, Carl and Mary, about their daughter's relationship with a man much older than her. When, however, Carl's firm opposition to the union between Jack and Patty only brings the two closer together, Jill realizes that she has to act in person to seduce Jack in front of Patty's eyes. Jill thus succeeds in making love with the man and the next day she doesn't have much trouble informing the girl about the details of her night with Jack. Patty, completely destroyed and heartbroken, first decides to end the story with Jack, then, in a burst of pride and madness, runs to Jack to make love with him. When Jack rejects the girl, saying he doesn't want her to go against his principles and values, Patty says she's ready to get married so as not to give up on him. Jack's perplexities, also intimidated by Carl's threatening intimations to stay away from his daughter, however, destroy the girl, who is so comforted by Danny. Patty and Danny thus begin a relationship together, this time also approved by Carl, who is willing to accept anyone as long as it is not Jack. Patty, although not without difficulty, seems to be able to forget Jack, and when Danny proposes to Patty to become his wife, the girl accepts with enthusiasm.
