1980 (#8) - Jill's intrusions, Liz's forgiveness and marriage to Stuart

After the divorce from Jill, without having to give up his property, Stuart is finally free to get back with Liz. Jill's mother, however, seems ready, under pressure from Greg and Chris, to forgive the man and reconcile with him. The love between the two, so soon wins over everything and the two decide to start from where they left off before Stuart's affairs, that is the preparation of their marriage that could finally reunite the two families. Everything seems going smoothly, except that, once again, Jill seems to want to insinuate herself into the relationship between her mother and Stuart. In fact, after the attempted marriage with Derek, Jill tries once again to get love and especially Stuart's money, although this time the man doesn't seem interested at all. Jill, however, still has a weapon by her side, which is the fact that she and Stuart had sex before their marriage, a fact of which Liz is unaware. When Liz interrupts a heated argument between Stuart and her daughter, in a fit of rage, Jill screams that Stuart married her because he thought she was pregnant. Stuart explains the whole situation to Liz, and is forced to admit, along with Jill's lies, that he had sex with her before their marriage. Liz, once again, runs away in tears, and it's only Lorie's intervention that makes the woman rethink her decision. Eventually Liz and Stuart decide to put the whole thing behind them and finally get married. Decisive was also the umpteenth clarification between Jill and Liz, in which the daughter admits to having deceived Stuart and asks Liz for forgiveness for all the pain she caused her; she then asks her to accept the proposal of an extraordinary man like Stuart, since her dream is exclusively to see her mother and Stuart happy. On their wedding day, everyone was overjoyed to see Liz and Stuart's dreams come true. The two come from two very different worlds; Stuart's success as publisher of the Genoa Chronicle is in stark contrast to the difficult life Liz has faced to provide her children with a peaceful future. But Liz and Stuart share a unique bond based on mutual respect, commitment to family, trust and mature love. And it was the strength of that love that allowed them to put Stuart's relationship with Jill behind them and look to the future. Even though Liz still had doubts that she would fit into a comfortable life with Stuart, surrounded by her rich friends and co-workers, that she eventually accepted
