1980 (#7) - Greg's concerns about Nikki's job at Rose's fashion agency

Despite all expectations, Greg and Nikki's strange marriage seems to be going smoothly. Archived Nikki's betrayal with Paul, of which Greg is and will always remain completely unaware, there is indeed a genuine feeling within this couple that is not based solely on physical attraction, which leads many to question Nikki's ability to maintain a relationship as stable as marriage. However, Nikki soon realizes that she wants a goal to pursue in her life and sets out in search of a job. Greg, on the other hand, has always encouraged Nikki to do something for herself, so he is more than happy to support his wife's decision when she informs her husband that she wants to pursue a modeling career. Nikki decides to reply to an advertisement from a fashion agency run by Rose De Ville and Vince Holliday. As soon as they get out of prison, in fact, the two immediately decide to get back into business and, presenting themselves as two respectable and honest scouts, they hire an unaware Nikki, unaware that the fashion agency is actually a cover for a prostitution and drug ring. In the meantime, Greg warns Nikki not to sign any contract proposed to her without giving him the chance to read it first; frightened by the world that often hides the evil, in fact, Greg, as a good lawyer, knows well the many pitfalls that a contract can hide, made of quibbles and often unclear clauses. However, naive Nikki, anxious to start her new modeling career, ignores Greg's warning and signs the contract without being too careful to read it. It is only when she returns home that Nikki realizes that the contract includes a $1,800 deduction from the agency; and at Nikki's claims of explanation, Rose reassures her that she is certain that the girl will be able to earn a lot more money, showing herself convinced that she will be able to set aside much more money for her than she owes the agency. New discussions in Greg's house take place when the man does not appreciate Nikki's first job, a lingerie fashion show service. Greg, then, takes out his frustration by admitting that he doesn't want his wife to do that job and that he envies the couple formed by Chris and Snapper, about to become parents. Nikki laughs at the mere mention of children, claiming that Greg only wants to try to repress his budding career. Clearly, then, the first differences between the two begin to emerge.
