1980 (#2) - Jill's revenge, the trial of Nikki and Casey and the terror of Joseph
Jill, strongly annoyed by Brock's constant intrusions, decides to take revenge on the man, hitting him in a field he cares of, namely the Reed sisters. After Nick's death, initially Nikki and Casey were released with the dismissal of their father's murder as self-defense but soon the case is reopened despite Greg trying to show his wife's innocence. At this point it's Jill who takes the initiative when she meets a drifter, Joseph Thomas, who is incredibly similar in appearance to the deceased Nick. So Jill hires the man to scare Nikki and Casey pretending to be the ghost of their father. The two sisters find themselves literally terrified by the man who chases them several times and threatens to keep harassing them in case they don't confess their guilt at the trial. Strongly upset by Joseph, who tries to abuse her, Nikki surprisingly confesses to being guilty in front of the judges and is taken to prison for a few days before Greg can discover the whole truth about the strange man's identity. Jill is never involved in the case and soon decides to get out of the situation by paying the last money promised to Joseph, who accepts Jill's order to get out of their lives.
