1978 (#17) - The seductive Jill, the passion with Stuart in Las Vegas, Liz's suspicions

As time goes by, Liz and Stuart become more and more involved and a deeper feeling blossoms between them. Everyone is happy for this new love and when Liz starts talking about a possible marriage the happiest is Snapper, who hopes his mother will be happy again. However, no one has come to terms with the seductive Jill, who, once abandoned the idea of being with Derek, sets her sights on Stuart himself. In a chance encounter at The Allegro, in fact, the two of them find themselves talking and while Stuart tells about their relationship with Jill's mother, Liz, an unexpected passion breaks out between the two when overwhelming passion flows into a night of love. Both shocked by what happened, despite their firm belief in forgetting what happened, the episode does not remain a single moment of weakness, as the two cannot stay apart and take advantage of every possible moment to meet secretly. Between the two, it is Stuart who feels the most guilty, knowing that he is cheating on Liz with his daughter. Jill, however, openly declares that she doesn't consider the age difference and that she is convinced that love, no matter how wrong it may seem, should never be repressed. As Jill and Stuart's encounters become more and more frequent, Liz herself realizes that Stuart has changed his attitude towards her. And so, when Stuart goes for a weekend in Las Vegas with Jill, a trip that Liz has been declared a business trip, the woman begins to suspect that the man may have another woman. Liz then reveals in a meeting with her friend Katherine, during a visit to the woman, bedridden by paralysis, her suspicions about Stuart's absence, as she has not received confirmation from the editorial staff of the Genoa Chronicle about Stuart's trip. Katherine, unaware that the cause of the crisis between Liz and Stuart is her bitter enemy Jill, warns Liz that Stuart may be dating a girl much younger than her, but still incites her to fight for her man, convinced in the end that her maturity can get the better of a girl who has nothing to offer a man like Stuart besides her body. He, meanwhile, finds himself more and more conflicted and would like to break off his relationship with Jill, aware that the relationship would end up hurting Liz; but even though he is aware that he is making a serious mistake, Stuart is unable to reject such an attractive Jill, who uses all her weapons to make Stuart lose his head, convinced that soon the man will be totally fine.
