Leslie and Brad's marriage brought new happiness to the woman, but Brad knew something was wrong. When Leslie asks her husband if he wants to return to Chicago to resume his medical practice, the man refuses firmly assuring his wife that his life is now in Genoa City, by her side. However, this leads Brad to the conviction that he must do something to make Leslie happy, worried that marriage life will not completely satisfy his wife. Brad thought a lot about what to do to make Leslie's life complete and soon realized that the woman could never live without restarting her career as a pianist. Brad realized he had hit the nail on the head when he suggested to his wife to resume concerts with Maestro Fautsch; Brad reads in the woman's eyes the desire to play, despite Leslie refusing to return to the stage, afraid that it might bring back memories of her nervous breakdown. Brad then decides to organize the honeymoon in Palm Springs, with his wife being kept unaware that a Mid-America Symphony concert was planned. In agreement with maestro Ernesto Fautsch, Brad organized a performance by Leslie, who to her amazement was a sensational success, which convinced her to promise Brad that there would have been a second concert. To restore Leslie's complete confidence, however, Brad knew that he would have to make whatever it takes to make Leslie prove to herself that she was playing great even in his absence. In agreement with Ernesto, Brad tells a frightened Leslie that he cannot attend her next concert in Buffalo; the woman initially refuses to perform but then, convinced by Ernesto, decides to try the concert anyway, arousing the enthusiasm of the audience again. It is only at the end of the concert that Brad shows up in front of his wife, satisfied that she is able to play even in his absence and that she has overcome all her fears. Leslie thanks her husband and admits that she has finally found joy and overcome all her fears. The two of them find themselves more in love and happy than ever before.
