Brad and Leslie's happy life is interrupted again by the return of the ghosts linked to Brad's past. The man, in fact, is surprised to see Barbara back in Genoa City, and is even more worried when the woman tells him she has something important to tell him. A shocked Brad thus learns that Barbara is expecting a child conceived by him on their love night in Chicago a few months earlier; the woman, at this point, hopes for a possible reunion with the man, who, however, is uncertain about what to do and does not want to hurt Leslie again, who is naturally kept unaware of everything. Barbara, however, in the meantime becomes increasingly insistent with Brad, who, however, does not want to give up his life in Genoa City. In the end, it is as always the course of events, regardless of people's decisions, that decides everyone's destiny; and so, when an increasingly anxious Barbara faints and is hospitalized, the woman in pain comes to know that she was forced to have an abortion after the trauma of her fall. Injured, desperate and shocked, Barbara informs Brad of what happened and decides to return to Chicago, once again reassuring the man that Leslie will never know anything about what happened.
