1974 (#18) - Brock’s return, Lorie hitting on him and the relationship with Jed

A new twist is the unexpected arrival of Brock Reynolds, who shakes the Chancellor house. Brock is the son of Katherine and her first husband, Gary Reynolds. The long friendship between Gary and Phillip allowed, after the death of Gary himself, twelve years earlier, the closeness between Katherine and Phillip, a union disliked by Brock. Always a rebellious boy, Brock wanted nothing more to do with his mother Katherine and moved away from her, causing her great pain. So he went to Europe, where among alcohol, drugs and excesses he met Lorie, with whom he had a brief flirt. However, the man who arrives in Genoa City is a completely new Brock. Thanks also to his renewed faith, Brock has successfully completed his law studies, becoming a promising lawyer. As soon as she heard of Brock's arrival, the wounded Lorie visits the boy, hoping that there might be something between them again, but Brock quickly dismisses the girl by not hiding his intentions to become a priest. Disappointed once again by the men, an increasingly fragile Lorie thus falls into the arms of her publicist friend Jed Andrews, not knowing that he is married to Betty Andrews. The two thus begin a secret extramarital affair based on Jed's passion and lies.
