Leslie's recovery, meanwhile, requires months of therapy, time within an incredulous and suffering Brad, unaware of all the events that happened to Leslie, got engaged to Lorie. The relationship is naturally disliked by Stuart and Jennifer, who have understood perfectly Lorie's role in the affair and are astonished by the selfishness shown by their daughter. Stuart decides to inform Brad about Lorie's actions and his responsibility for Leslie's estrangement. Having discovered the truth, a disappointed Brad immediately breaks off the engagement with Lorie, accusing her of being the cause of Leslie's nervous breakdown, and runs to pay Leslie a visit. Brad begins to devote all his attention to Leslie to help her in her rehabilitation, hoping to regain her trust and get the chance to establish a new relationship. With Brad's help, Leslie regains her memory within a few months and the two get back together, to the delight of Stuart and Jennifer. Completely restored, Leslie is released from the psychiatric center. Brad, euphoric, asks Leslie to get married, but the woman, while overjoyed and enthusiastic about the idea of getting married, suggests the man to postpone the wedding until the two of them put the last events behind them and restore their feelings. In order to strengthen her bond with Brad, Leslie decides to quit her piano concert career and dedicate her energy to singing. With Brad's encouragement, Leslie also decides to buy Pierre's restaurant, turning it into a nightclub called The Allegro, where she could perform without the need to travel. Marianne, on the other hand, welcomed Leslie's offer, as she intended to return to live in Paris and leave Genoa City, which had become cursed for her, taking the remains of her deceased brother with her. Within a few weeks Leslie and Brad's new club was inaugurated; Stuart and Jennifer spent many evenings at The Allegro, proud of their daughter and her talent.
