1993 (#9) - Eve's return and Victoria's fantasies about novelist Cole

Many years after their last meeting, the beautiful Eve shows up at Victor's ranch. Eve is happy to meet the only man she has ever truly loved, and moreover, the father of her child. Unlike what the woman herself imagined, Victor, still upset about what happened to Nikki, is happy to see Eve again. Victor assures the woman that he has long since put aside his past crimes, and has now forgiven her. However, Victor is satisfied when he learns from Eve that she never told her son the truth about her paternity; in fact, she has no intention of taking over Cole's life now. Saddened and distraught by Victor's words, Eve decides to leave town again. In tears, before leaving the ranch, she leaves some photos of Cole between the pages of the book Victor is reading. It is during an evening at home, then, that a lonely Victor comes across Cole's photos; regretting never having been part of his son's life, Victor calls Eve informing her that he wants to make up for the many years he has neglected Cole and wants to meet him. Eve decides to return to Genoa City to introduce Cole to Victor; however, she doesn't inform him that he's her father, but rather a simple friend who would be happy to host him for a while, in the meantime they wait for them to find accommodation in the city and, above all, a job. Soon, however, Eve, visibly unwilling to see Victor again, leaves the city, disappearing as she has done so many times before with Cole. Cole, tired of continuously chasing his mother, decides to stay in the city, asking Victor for hospitality. From the very first meeting with the man, however, Cole, a young novice novelist, immediately takes a dislike to the man, but accepts his offer to work at the ranch in exchange for a quiet place to write. Cole's presence at the ranch obviously does not go unnoticed by Victoria who, still hurt by her separation from Ryan, appears intrigued by the young man's arrival. Soon, despite the fact that there is a considerable age difference of over ten years between Cole and the young girl, the two begin to get to know each other and develop a mutual interest. Cole is taken by the beauty of the girl and her elegance and genuineness, while Victoria is literally fascinated by the intellectual and intelligent air of the man, with whom she soon falls madly in love. Victoria, who seems to have already forgotten Ryan, begins to seduce the man, who, however, while flirting with her, warns her not to start a relationship with a minor. Victoria is disappointed but more and more determined to break through to Cole's heart, to the point that, when the divorce papers arrive with Ryan, she signs them without a second thought and without the slightest sign of repentance or indecision.
