1993 (#20) - Lillie Belle's hospitality and the contrasts between Nathan and Olivia

Following the marriage of Drucilla and Neil, the relationship between the two sisters worsens drastically. In fact, Olivia, who still doesn't know the whole truth about Drucilla's conception, doesn't forgive her sister for having treated her parents badly, as they are suddenly sent away from the city. Olivia's problems are also exacerbated by an increasing conflict with Nathan, who is accused of defending Drucilla too often. It is in this period of strong tension that, surprisingly, Lillie Belle returns to the city. The woman confides to her sister that she has separated from Walter, whose marriage has been in crisis immediately after his marriage to Drucilla; the reason, of course, is always Drucilla, since the man does not accept to continue to treat his youngest daughter in the way Lillie Belle continues to do, moreover angry with her husband for having allowed himself to apologize to Drucilla. Lillie Belle then informs both Drucilla and Olivia that she has returned to the city to take care of herself by undergoing some medical tests due to her depression. Drucilla, convinced by Neil to try to rebuild a relationship with her mother, invites the woman to stay with them, but once again Lillie Belle refuses the attentions of her youngest daughter, preferring to move in with Olivia and Nathan, so as to spend some time with Nate as well, encouraging her daughter to get rid of her babysitter Julia Grimson so that she can take care of him directly while the woman is at work. Lillie Belle's choice, however, only makes things worse. Drucilla, in fact, once again feels hurt by her mother, and promises herself that she wants nothing more to do with her. Moreover, this leads to cooler relations between the two sisters, with Olivia herself finding it increasingly difficult to recover her relationship with her husband Nathan, who once again defends Drucilla. Moreover, the continuous and more and more indiscreet and intrusive presence of Lillie Belle in the house, prevents the couple from being able to talk to each other.
