1992 (#2) - Marriage problems with Sheila and Scott's relationship with Lauren

Struck by the photo of the baby that Molly has arranged for her to find as a clue to the truth, Lauren contacts Paul hoping he can help her. However, all of the man's investigations to discover the identity of the child are futile, even though they both agree that Sheila is hiding something. Scott, meanwhile, is increasingly perplexed by his wife's strange behavior and begins to doubt whether marrying Sheila was the right choice; after all, his feelings for Lauren never seem to have subsided and the two become very close when she confesses to the man that she is still suffering greatly from Dylan's death. Paul, who is also worried about Lauren's depressive state, advises her to seek professional counseling to deal with her grief, but she refuses and is sure that only time will be able to lift her up; moreover, she feels that she will be able to overcome this difficult period and metabolize her child's death only by shedding light on all the things that don't fit. Scott, meanwhile, promises to spend more time with Sheila and the baby in order to cement their relationship and raise Scotty in a loving family, but the closeness with Sheila only exacerbates Scott's doubts about Sheila's behavior. So, when Scott asks his wife to open up to her and ask her if she has anything to say, she coldly doesn't respond and goes to take care of the baby. Discouraged, Scott finds himself asking Lauren for comfort, showing himself happy to be able to help the woman who is facing this difficult period alone. The two, inevitably, end up making love, no longer able to hide their feelings for each other.
