1990 (#34) - Lauren's confession and Scott's comfort with nurse Sheila

In the wake of her betrayal with Paul, Lauren has become the perfect, caring wife she never was after all. Feeling guilty about cheating on her husband, Lauren, still conflicted about whether or not to tell her husband the truth, is more willing than ever to make her marriage work with Scott, who seems very happy that his wife's crisis following the miscarriage has passed. When Scott then innocently confesses to his wife about the presence of a nurse, Sheila Carter, who is probably in love with him, Lauren understands that honesty is the most important thing in a relationship and realizes that she must tell Scott the truth. Sheila herself, meanwhile, tries to seduce Scott, who however makes it clear to the woman that he is a married man. Finally, the fateful day arrives when Lauren confesses to Scott about her betrayal with Paul. For Scott it is a real stab, so much so that he leaves home to go to work without not saying a word to a desperate Lauren who asks her forgiveness. Completely shocked and upset by the news, Scott confesses to Sheila what he has learned, and the woman urges him not to go home but rather to stay at the hospital. Using drugs intended for patients, Sheila thus drugs Scott, making him hers in a night of passion. The next morning, a grief-stricken Scott wakes up and realizes what has happened, and immediately regrets having betrayed his wife. The man returns home intending to clear the air with his wife and solve all their problems. The man, however, does not confess to the woman of his betrayal, making her understand that he has to pass over the issue of betrayal with Paul. Lauren is overjoyed with Scott's decision; however, she begins to be suspicious of Sheila, and her relationship with the man. Lauren warns her to stay away from Scott, but Sheila doesn't respond to the provocation; Sheila has just learned that she is pregnant by Scott and is over the moon that Scott will leave Lauren to be with her. In reality, things are not exactly like that, since the news of Sheila's pregnancy upsets Scott, leaving him petrified; the man, however, is firm in reiterating to Sheila that theirs was a mistake and he has no intention of leaving his wife. At the same time, a joyful Lauren learns that she, too, is pregnant by Scott, and decides to organize a candlelight dinner to announce the wonderful news to her husband. Scott, however, knowing that he can no longer hide his night with Sheila and her pregnancy from his wife, decides to reveal the truth that very evening; and so, before Lauren can speak, a grief-stricken Scott confesses to his wife about Sheila's pregnancy. Lauren's reaction is furious, since, without mentioning anything about the fact that she herself is pregnant by Scott, she throws her husband out of the house and announces her intention to file for divorce. Scott, desperate, hopes to be able to mend things thanks to the help of Paul, who lends himself to talk to Lauren to convince her to forgive the man; however, no one suspects that Sheila is about to turn their lives into hell.
