1989 (#1) - Lisa's nuptial fantasies, Brad's attempted escape and Jack's rescue
The New Year is bitterly celebrated by Brad in Lisa's prison, melancholyly locked up by the woman who, in his crazy mind, thinks in this way to make him fall in love with her as he once did, making him forget both Traci and Lauren. Lisa, on the other hand, is finally reliving her most obsessive fantasies; so she decides to recreate Brad's wedding night, forced to wear a tuxedo but free for one night from his prison. So Brad shares a romantic dinner with Lisa, naturally dressed in a wedding dress and with the clear intention, that same evening, to remarry the man, thanks also to divorce papers from Traci ready and an accomplice authorized to celebrate weddings. Brad first tries to reason, in vain, the woman; and then he pretends to indulge her by trying to get her drunk and lose consciousness. After dinner, when the two of them move into the bedroom, the man tries to take advantage of Lisa's sleepiness, due to a few glasses of red wine too much, to escape. The escape attempt, however, is promptly stopped by the girl, who warns the guards lurking outside the house, her accomplices, to stop the man. Enraged and disappointed by Brad, who she believed she had succeeded in seducing, Lisa orders the guards to send Brad back to the basement and lock him in the cage. As the days went by, also because of Lisa's punishments, which forced him to fast, Brad began to get sick; and although the man's condition worsened, Lisa refused to call the emergency room while allowing him to treat himself with painkillers. While in the pharmacy, Lisa is noticed with astonishment by Lauren, who is in the company of Jack for a day's skiing. The woman is immediately suspicious of Lisa's presence, who is discovered to be holding Brad prisoner at her mountain estate, and decides to follow the woman to her cabin where, to her surprise, she manages to track Brad down. Lauren is shocked to see Brad in that condition; but the woman's amazement is short-lived, as Lisa, behind her, captures her and has her thrown in jail too. Having been discovered by now, Lisa decides to close the matter and decides to kill the two of them by leaving them in the basement, despite their pleas, with an open gas cylinder. What Lisa cannot imagine is that outside the house there is a suspicious Jack who, as soon as he sees Lisa running away, tries to stop her in vain. Not seeing Lauren behind him, he then decides to enter the house, thus managing to save Brad and Lauren from certain death. Back in the city, Brad, Jack and Lauren warn the police that they will immediately start searching for the woman; however, the woman has already lost track of him and any attempt to find her proves useless.
