Beyond her family matters, Brittany's real occupation is as an auditor. And it is precisely for business reasons that she knows Jack, happy to turn a boring business appointment into a meeting with a charming woman. Brittany explains that she has replaced the old auditor, who has now retired, and soon Jack's joy fades away. Brittany, in fact, is not at all like the tame and evidently corrupt former auditor who had now learned to turn a blind eye to Abbott's accounts: Brittany, on the contrary, is inflexible and uncompromising, which alarms Jack and John, knowing that some flaw in their books is certainly hiding. Sure of being able to use the weapon of seduction, Jack invites the woman to dinner; Brittany initially refuses, then lets herself be convinced by the man until she stays at home with him. When she wakes up the next morning, the woman, who seems to have quickly sobered up from the night just gone by, is however caught by a suspicious Jack rummaging through her documents. Strung out by the man and threatened with a knife, since Jack suspects she is a spy sent by the competition, a frightened Brittany reassures the man, simply telling him that she is used to doing things right. The man apologizes for her abrupt ways, and at the same time the woman tries to justify herself for her unconventional methods of investigation. Between the two, very soon, a certain sympathy is born, which leads them to decide to date, obviously without commitment, for some time; dating that also induces Brittany to turn a blind eye, for this time, in the audit of Jabot.
