1988 (#16) - Lisa's obsession, Brad's dismissal and Jack's appointment

Jack's investigations allow Lisa to get back on Brad's trail again; the woman has never forgotten the man who made her literally lose her head and this time, without finally the harsh opposition of her family, she is convinced she can take back the love of her life. Lisa's determination, and her belief that Brad still loves her, is, however, immediately put to the test when Lisa learns that the man has meanwhile remarried and is expecting a child from his current wife. Despite this, Lisa doesn't lose heart and gets back in touch with him. With an excuse, then, Lisa contacts Brad asking him to sort out some bureaucratic paperwork regarding his father's estate; Brad, not at all enthusiastic about resenting the woman, initially refuses, but Lisa eventually convinces him to meet her in his apartment, promising not to enter into her new life in any way and to let him go as soon as he has signed some documents. Lisa, however, has quite different intentions, and as soon as Brad arrives she drugs him and puts him to sleep with a strong dose of sleeping pills, making Brad believe, the next morning, that they had made love. Brad cannot believe what he has done, and hastily takes his things back and leaves, not before warning Lisa that they would never see each other again. This one, however, is very pleased with herself for the work she has done; in particular, for the photos taken the night before where they suggest that there was something compromising between them. Meanwhile, at Jabot, John and Ashley are annoyed by the absence of Brad at their important meeting, where there is a discussion on the latest unexpected negative sales results. When a worried Traci warns them that Brad hadn't come home the night before, John goes into a rage. Brad, completely scruffy and with a face that suggests he'd had a very eventful night, only arrives at a meeting that's now over, where he finds a John who coldly tells him that he's fired him and that he has named his son Jack to replace him. Brad, distraught, protests needlessly and leaves in distress before the eyes of a satisfied Jack, appointed CEO, who advises him and John to take care of his family.
