1987 (#24) - The discovery of Nikki's lies and Victor's afterthought

When Nikki makes her request to Victor to give up the majority shareholding package of the Mergeron Corporations in favor of Victoria, he immediately appears to be condescending, finding the idea really good; however, after thinking about it, the man starts to get suspicious and smell something is wrong. Despite his health, which Victor still imagines to be desperate, in fact, Victor finds this woman's interest in business absolutely strange, since Nikki had never interfered in these matters until now. Convinced also by his secretary Darin Goldberg that behind Nikki there is certainly someone else's hand who wants to take advantage of the woman, Victor satisfies Nikki by signing a contract in favor of Victoria who will inherit the majority of the Mergeron, but only when she comes of age: until then the company will remain in Victor's hands. Nikki is happy with Victor's gesture, although the man does not let slip a little grimace of Nikki's dissatisfaction. And when the man finds the woman in Jack's company, Victor begins to have real suspicions about the whole thing. The wheel and the wind, as often happens, begin to turn in Victor's favour: the time has come for them to play. Letting Nikki believes he doesn't suspect anything, Victor brings her a tuna sandwich which, as expected, causes her a slight food poisoning. Taken to the hospital, Nikki is cornered when the doctors, in the presence of the man, declare her perfectly healthy. When cornered, Nikki confesses her plan, saying she only did it out of love's spite since she saw him kissing Ashley. Victor, however, seems to hear no reason, as he warns Nikki to start preparing the divorce papers before he storms off. Victor's anger, however, soon leaves room for joy and happiness because, right now, nothing and no one can stop him from freely chasing the woman he loves, his Ashley!
