A few weeks later, John gets the approval of the doctor Arthur Nicholls
and is finally ready to return to his home, where his wife Jill, anxious
to see him again, is waiting for him. John, however, is still angry
with her and confirms that he wants her out of the house within thirty
days, having asked for a divorce. Jill is shocked and desperate but,
thanks also to Brock's advice, she doesn't lose heart and starts to see
things positively, having thirty days to save her marriage. Jill, then,
tries a new strategy, revealing to John that the man in the photo with
her is actually her ex-boyfriend Andy. John initially seems to give
credit to this version, however he decides to go and talk to Andy
himself to verify his wife's story. Andy, certainly not having much
sympathy for Jill, who dumped him in the past without thinking too much
about it, has no trouble disproving the woman, guaranteeing John that
the man portrayed in the photo is not him. Enough for John to expose
Jill's lies, who despite the woman's futile attempts to apologize and
explain herself, is kicked out of the house immediately with the warning
to seek a lawyer as soon as possible. Jack, feeling sorry for Jill that the woman is the only one who took responsibility for the betrayal, is consoled by the same woman, who confirms to him that it's right, because if John can get over the betrayal of a wife, he can never get over that of a son. Jack, however, promises to speak to his father on her behalf, to try to get him to forgive her. Jill, however, is skeptical about it, and apparently she's not wrong, since John is firm on his intention to divorce her.
