1984 (#28) - John's complaint and Carl and Jazz's investigation

Mamie, suspicious of the mysterious envelopes arriving with Mrs. Jill Abbott, informs John worried about this strange circumstance, alarmed also by Jack's reaction towards the stranger, convinced that the man's wife is plotting or hiding something. When John asks his wife in this way, Jill explains that the envelopes contain obscene letters in anonymous form, probably sent by some madman who persecutes them in search of money; it is precisely for this reason that Jack, Jill explains, had that violent reaction towards the man. John, then, decides to see us more clearly and calls the police to report what happened. It's Carl, back on police duty after leaving his job as a security guard at Abbott following Jack and Patty's divorce, who takes over the case and starts investigating who might be the sender of the obscene letters. Carl obviously doesn't like Jill or the hated Jack, which is why he decides not to rule out any leads. At the same time, an increasingly worried Jack contacts Jazz to get the negatives of the photos Lindsey owns as soon as possible; however, without success. As time goes by, Carl becomes more and more suspicious of Jack and Jill's strange behavior, suspecting that they are hiding something really bad from John.
