1984 (#2) - John's choice in favor of Ashley and the youth campaign with Christine

After months of long therapies, finally Jack manages to recover completely and to walk perfectly again; this is the prelude, of new family struggles for the control of Jabot Cosmetics. As soon as John recovered from his heart attack, in fact, Jack complains to his father about the chairmanship of the company, now led by Ashley. To complicate things, moreover, there is also Dina's offer to buy the company, which is soon, however, modified in a request to join the board of directors to be able to follow the events and the fate of the family business. The decision, as it should be, is, up to John, to whom Ashley herself gives her mandate back. After a few days of reflection, John finally decides to confirm the presidency to Ashley for her commitment and the excellent results achieved. The decision leaves Jack disappointed, but John shuts up by saying that he can't trust a hothead like him who has been the architect of a failed marriage and the worst leader that the company ever had, being one of his deeds the opening of negotiations with Mergeron without warning anyone. In the end, Jack agrees to work in the company under the guidance of Ashley, whose relationship with Eric, and a possible prospect of marriage, also allow Dina's requests to be partly fulfilled. For the moment, Diana is left out of the company, also to satisfy Jill's requests, who, continuously accused by Dina of having subdued her ex-husband's mind, has repeatedly pressed John to make clear who the current Mrs. Abbott is. It is increasingly evident that between Dina and Jill there is now a real feud underway for the conquest of John's heart, which, however, has never stopped expressing to Jill his total commitment. Ashley's first decision, as the new president of Jabot, is to launch a new campaign of youthful perfumes, which involves the collaboration of Joe for a photo shoot where the top model appears Christine Blair, his young and beautiful niece, called by all, affectionately, Cricket. Christine is in fact the daughter of Joe's sister, Jessica, and from the very first moment she positively impresses Ashley and John himself, who fully approves of Ashley's choice to focus on a younger audience.
