As the weeks go by, Traci's addiction to slimming pills grows more and more; and this is mainly thanks to Sparky and Vinnie's increasing presence, who contribute a lot to make her addicted, also foreseeing for them the possibility of expanding their drug business thanks to Traci's knowledge of Danny's group. It's Traci's growing insomnia and lack of appetite that draws the attention of Dina, Mamie and John, all worried about the girl's state of health, who, although she minimizes on too much coffee, is more and more distant and constantly looking for Sparky. Danny himself, noticing Traci's strange behavior lately, asks Lauren for information, who soon understands Traci's discomfort but does nothing to stop the swirling tunnel she's getting into; on the contrary, it's Lauren herself who bribes Sparky and Vinnie to start giving drugs to Traci in exchange for her promise to buy drugs for the group and to expand their drug business. Lauren then reassures Danny about Traci and provokes him into making love to her. The collapse, for Traci, happens as soon as Lauren informs her that she is engaged to Danny; completely depressed, Traci ends up stunned by pills and drugs, recklessly going to drive in search of Sparky for a new dose. Traci, however, never made it to college because she was involved in a car accident. She is rushed to the hospital and is rushed to an emergency hospital with severe convulsions. The doctors who monitor her constantly warn John and the whole family of the state of drug addiction accused by Traci, news that upsets Danny himself. Traci herself, meanwhile, ends up in trouble when the police realize that she has been driving under the influence of drugs, which upsets everyone.
