1981 (#26) - Sally's return, Chuckie's kidney problems, Chris and Snapper's crisis

After Jennifer was born, Chris and Snapper had some very happy times. Chris, enthusiastic about family life, plans a possible new pregnancy and, in preparation for this, begins to think about the need to move to a new, larger house, which meets the perplexities of Snapper, worried about their financial means. In the meantime, a person unexpectedly returns to Genoa City who neither Chris nor Snapper would ever think of meeting again: Sally. After writing a letter to Liz informing her that she would shortly be arriving in the city, in fact, Sally shows up in front of a surprised Snapper, who learns that little Chuckie, their son, is seriously ill due to a kidney dysfunction and is in town for a medical visit. Snapper, dismissing a disappointed Chris that it is not a good time to have a new baby, then accompanies Sally and her son to the visit. When Chuckie's condition worsens, the child is admitted to the hospital and is cared for by a concerned Snapper, who calms Sally and at the same time feels guilty about being absent from her son's life all the time. While Snapper is increasingly absent because assisting Chuckie, Sally assures Chris that she has no intention of taking advantage of her child's illness to reconnect with Snapper, being respectful of her marriage. Despite this, Chris begins to suspect more and more that Sally is acting to meddle in her marriage and get close to Snapepr, accusations that Sally strongly rejects. In fact, Sally cannot deny herself that she is still attracted to Snapper, despite the fact that she is firmly convinced to move on with her life as she has done years ago.
