1978 (#19) - Chris' return, her friendship with Casey and Snapper's choice

The relationship between Snapper and Casey is proceeding happily, but neither of them expected what would happen next. What interrupts these moments of tenderness between Snapper and Casey is in fact Chris' unexpected call to Snapper, who shortly announces his return. Snapper is literally shocked by the unexpected call and doesn't know how to react. Upon her arrival at the airport, Snapper is very happy to meet his wife again, who informs him that she has given him a lot of thought and, apologizing for his absence, confesses to him that she feels even stronger feelings towards him. The separation has in fact confirmed in Chris the desire to stay with Snapper for the rest of her life and to settle down together as a family. Snapper, however, interrupts Chris by immediately clarifying the truth about both his move and the events of the past year, starting with the fact that he is now dating Casey. Chris doesn't seem surprised, after all, she expected her husband couldn't wait forever. She is therefore perfectly sympathetic to her husband, and indeed asks to meet the girl. The meeting between Chris and Casey is naturally a matter of great tension for Casey, but she soon discovers that she has a lot in common with the woman. Between the two there is a clear sympathy and mutual respect, so much so that Snapper informs her that they will accept whatever decision the man makes. Facing Snapper's indecision, however, it's Casey who takes matters into his own hands, not feeling comfortable in a triangle with a married couple. She thanks the man for all the emotions she has experienced during this very intense year, but she encourages him to return to his rightful place, which is next to his wife. Snapper, moved by Casey, thanks the woman and wishes her all the luck in the world, before returning to a very happy Chris.
