1978 (#12) - Ernesto’s love declaration and the mutual feelings between Stuart and Liz

As events in Genoa City unfold relentlessly, two people who find themselves alone understand it is time to move on with their lives. We are talking on the one hand about Liz, who remained alone after Bill's death, and on the other about Stuart, widower of the late Jennifer. Both of them have suffered and continue to grieve over the death of their spouses and realize, despite the problems that didn't go unnoticed in their marriages, that accepting that they are no longer with them is impossible. Both Liz and Stuart have the support of their children, who encourage and motivate them to move forward. Their loneliness, however, is not likely to last much longer, since the two long-time good friends soon find themselves enjoying each other's company much more. Stuart is the first to invite Liz to dinner, encouraged by Jill and Greg to accept the invitation, although she had initially refused. The dinner soon turned out to be romantic and informal at the same time; Liz was amazed at Stuart's friendly attitude and his way of making her feel perfectly comfortable. It is clear that there is immediately a great feeling and complicity between the two of them, and they both feel that they have returned to feeling alive. And on their return, a happy Liz tells her children about her first date with glowing words; it is clear that she is falling in love with the man, which makes everyone happy. Completely unexpected, then, comes the declaration of love of another man in Liz's life: Ernesto Fautsch. Liz knows Ernesto well, being his great fan; and for a short time the woman finds herself in the completely new situation of having to choose between two suitors. In the end, however, it is Stuart's initiative that gets the better of the woman, attracted by his charm and personality.
