1977 (#2) - The honeymoon in Geneva of Lance and Lorie, Vanessa's interferences

After the romantic getaway and the unexpected marriage between Lance and Lorie, Vanessa shows all her perplexity about her son's choice to marry the woman. Determined not to listen to his mother, and looking forward to spending much time with his new wife, Lance organises a honeymoon in Switzerland on their luxurious Lake Geneva property. Lorie is excited about the idea of spending their honeymoon in Europe, and she shows his joy to Vanessa, outraged that Lance is occupying their home with the woman. Although Vanessa courageously makes the. best of a bad situation, and wishes the two of them a happy time, during their absence Vanessa immediately begins to lay the foundations to destroy their marriage; the first step was to invite Leslie to her house to make her understand that Lance was not exactly happy with her sister and that she would probably have preferred Leslie to Lorie. Leslie, however, firmly stops the woman's speech by saying that she was happy with Brad and that she was expecting a baby from her husband. In addition, her relationship with her sister Lorie is very good and she would never interfere in her relationship with Lance, with whom she says there is only a strong friendship. In rejecting the attempt to drag Lance into Leslie's arms, however, Leslie herself lets slip a confession that captures Vanessa's attention: that Lorie has written a second book that follows the first book published , always entitled "In my sister's shadow"; a book that Lorie herself has decided not to publish, thus giving up possible earnings to protect her sister. So, as soon as Leslie leaves, Vanessa immediately contacts a private investigator to get into possession of the book, the key to distancing Lorie from her son.
