1975 (#19) - Jennifer’s breast cancer, the mastectomy and the distance from Bruce

Fate often goes against people's will in all sorts of ways. This is probably what happens to Jennifer, who a few weeks after her arrival in Chicago with Bruce by her side discovers she has malignant breast nodules. The man shows Jennifer all his love by accompanying her to medical examinations, which unfortunately do not go as expected for the woman. The severity of the cancer, in fact, forces the woman to a painful mastectomy, that is the removal of her breast, which causes a deep psychological crisis in Jennifer. As she no longer sees herself as attractive and convinced that Bruce does not like her, or that Stuart would ever take her back. Jennifer decides to go live alone, despite Bruce's opposition that, instead, would like to continue to be close to her. At this difficult time for Jennifer, it is Lorie who stays with her mother, she is committed to stay in the hospital until her mother's health improves. The two women, who have never been on good terms, find themselves in this situation very close friends, and Jennifer thanks her daughter for her support in the relationship with Bruce, who in the meantime often goes to the hospital to visit Jennifer trying to convince her to move back in together. Despite the approval of the doctors, in fact, Jennifer does not want to be discharged from the hospital, convinced that it would only be a burden for Bruce.
