1992 (#9) - Discoveries about Michael's past and marriage to Hilary

Not at all resigned to dropping the charges and glossing over Michael's behaviors, Christine reveals what happened to her husband Danny, who becomes furious with the man and acknowledges that he has always been suspicious of her. Danny, however, follows Christine's advice not to make a scene and assures his wife that he plans to support her in her decision to pursue a lawsuit. Danny and Christine contact Paul and together they begin investigating Michael. They discover that Michael is no stranger to these actions, having sexually harassed other women in the past, but they never pressed charges against him, believing that since he is an excellent lawyer, he would have come out clean anyway. Christine, however, has no intention of giving up and contacts one of the women who have dealt with Michael in the past to gather as much evidence as possible against him. The woman in question, named Hilary Lancaster, admits that she knows Michael all too well and promises Christine that this time she will not only try to forget him, but to help him get what he deserves. When Christine, who despite everything continues to work at the law firm, informs Michael that she is preparing her defense as she intends to sue him, having gathered the testimony of others she has dealt with such as Hilary, he vehemently denies Christine's claims. Moreover, knowing that he can exploit the fragility of a girl like Hilary, he sets out to re-establish a relationship with the woman, convincing her to desist from following Chrsitine and making her believe that her feelings towards him are genuine. Hilary, who in her heart has never forgotten Michael, finally gives in to the man's courtship and even accepts, to Christine's amazement, the sudden and hasty request for marriage. A very happy and in love Hilary, so marries Michael, who in this way gets an important point in his favor in the war of evidence with Christine. And in spite of Hilary's disconcerting words, trying to convince her that after all Michael is a good person, she doesn't believe in the man's genuineness, promising to open her eyes as soon as possible to the real nature of her husband.
