1992 (#24) - Brad and Jack's alliance for Newman Enterprises and Victor's collapse

In this last period, perhaps more than ever before, the ever-critical relationship between Victor and Jack has deteriorated beyond recognition, leading the two men to hate each other. The motivation, essentially, is always the same: Nikki's heart. The woman is married to Jack, something that Victor has never been able to digest, even though he continues to frequent her and to be very close to her. So, while Jack is angry about Victor's meddling, who is betraying the trust of his sister Ashley, married to Victor, Victor accuses Jack of being incapable of taking care of his wife and consequently of not deserving a woman like Nikki. The rivalry, soon turns into a battle on the business field. And ironically, Jack can count on a valuable ally at this juncture, Brad, the very Brad he has hated for years. Both Brad and Jack, in fact, have an interest in teaching Victor a lesson, if for no other reason than that Brad has, as we know, feelings for Ashley. Brad being the head of Victor's empire as CEO, and owner of a good though not majority shareholding in Newman Enterprises after the merger with Ra-Tech, the two decide to join forces and exploit Victor's concerns about his love life, divided as he is between Ashley and Nikki, to take control of the company. Jack and Brad, thus, begin preparing a document for the board of directors to approve by which they will take away most of Victor's powers, whose shares, meanwhile, are supposed to be put up for sale on the stock exchange to acquire new financing, and actually decrease his ownership stake in the company's assets. Before Jack and Brad's plan can see the light of day, however, Victor manages to get hold of the papers and, determined not to let himself be robbed of his company, immediately confronts Jack in his office. The two of them begin a bitter confrontation, first verbal and then physical, in which Victor gets the worst of it and falls to the ground. Jack, petrified by the man's collapse, at first hesitates and seems undecided about what to do, but soon after decides to go away, climbing over and leaving the man on the ground panting. That same evening, meanwhile, Jack and Nikki have an important dinner organized by the woman, with which she wants to thank her husband for everything he has done in this period and, above all, ask his forgiveness for having neglected him to Victor's advantage. Jack, however, appears very nervous being worried about the man's condition. Having regretted having left him alone in that state, a distracted Jack thus walks away from a surprised Nikki to call for help and have the paramedics intervene, who immediately take Victor to the hospital.
