1990 (#21) - Lauren's miscarriage, marital problems with Scott, and betrayal with Paul

The marriage between Lauren and Scott has passed the first year without many problems, but no one suspects the hard trials that await the newlyweds. The first sign of the beginning of a difficult period is such a tragic event as the miscarriage suffered by Lauren. The woman strongly hoped to have a baby, and this loss, although Scott tries in every way to console her, is a very hard blow for Lauren, who enters a sort of depression. Lauren becomes nervous and irritable, and this can only reflect badly on her marriage, with Scott very often preferring to stay overnight directly in the hospital. The painful emptiness left by the baby and the sentimental estrangement with Scott, who struggles to recognize and console his wife, paves the way for a rapprochement with Lauren's first true love, her ex-husband Paul, who also finds himself suffering the pains of love because of Cassandra. Between Paul and Lauren, on the other hand, the understanding has never been lacking and the feelings do not disappear even years later. Scott, who has always been jealous of the man and annoyed by his increasingly constant presence in his wife's life, knows this well. Scott warns Paul several times to stay away from Lauren and not to interfere in their marriage, but the truth is that Lauren, at every quarrel with Scott, immediately takes refuge with Paul, with whom she spends a night of passion. Lauren, immediately regretting the betrayal, thus experiences a deep internal conflict about whether or not to tell the truth to Scott, with whom she doesn't want to break her sentimental bond.
