Shaken by the news of Neil's death, the whole Williams family, led by Paul, decide to visit Joanna and Lauren to express their condolences. Paul has now got over his affair with Lauren and has decided to move on with his life, which Mary doesn't mind at all. The woman, in fact, is astonished by the fact that the girl has already forgotten her son and embarked on an affair with Brad, who is also a married man. This is a moment, perhaps the first, of great closeness between Paul and his parents, proud of Paul's choice to end his relationship with Lauren after the publication of his photos in that scandal magazine. Mary also introduces Paul to a beautiful girl named Dana Sparks, with the hope that she may one day become his son's wife. Dana attends the same prayer group as Mary, who finds her perfect and suitable for her son. Carl is obviously less inclined to push his son into Dana's hands, being convinced that influencing his children in their emotional choices is wrong. For once, however, Paul seems to follow his mother's advice, and starts dating the girl. The relationship, however, lasts very little and after some time Paul decides to stop dating, having realized that he has no intention of entering into a lasting relationship.
