1986 (#33) - The misunderstandings with Beverly, the story between Molly and Jason

Christine's intuition to go looking for Nina and Molly at a center for single mothers, was really good luck. In fact, in addition to finding Nina, Christine also meets Molly, and convinces her to return to the shelter to Karen. Meanwhile, Danny meets Jason Carter, Molly's ex-boyfriend and informs him about her pregnancy. The boyfriend, completely shocked by the news, immediately agrees to see Molly and love seems to have blossomed again between the two. It is Molly, in fact, who confesses to having pushed the boy away, and not the opposite as she had told him, for fear that Jason would not have wanted to take the responsibility of becoming father. Christine shows Molly that sometimes people can accept the burden of responsibility, and makes it clear, therefore, that she must finally contact her mother and be honest with her. Danny and Christine talk to Beverly in this way, and then they prepare Molly by telling her that her mother is coming to town; in vain, Molly tries to refuse to face her mother, but Christine finally manages to reason with her. Mrs. Stark still believes that her daughter is in Genoa City for work reasons, and is willing to talk to her daughter to convince her to resume her studies. Before she can start this conversation, however, Molly interrupts the mother and reveals the real reason why she left home: the pregnancy. To Christine and Danny's surprise, however, Molly's fears and suspicions finally come true, as Beverly shows that she is not ready to accept a pregnancy for her daughter, as she has other plans for her. Enraged and disappointed with Molly, Beverly leaves leaving the girl alone and crying. But consoling her, besides Christine and Danny, is Jason, who promises to stand by her and confesses to her that he loves her.
