1985 (#16) - Shawn's obsession with Lauren and his solo career

The problems for Lauren and Paul, despite the reconciliation between the woman and Joanna, however, did not take long to manifest themselves again. This time the cause of the problems is external and comes from the president of the fanclub of Danny and Lauren's group, Shawn Garrett. As president of the fanclub, in fact, Shawn is constantly dedicated to growing the popularity of his idol, Lauren, soon revealing a genuine obsession with her. In fact, Shawn is so obsessed with Lauren that he can't bear not knowing what she's thinking or doing every single minute of the day; for this reason, Shawn has started stalking Lauren her with constant phone calls. Soon, he also began spying on Lauren and her husband through cameras installed in the house, listening to what they were saying with Paul and watching her in her intimate moments. Lauren initially imagines nothing of what Shawn has planned, but soon begins to suspect something, feeling constantly observed and followed. She thus warns Paul of this premonition and, although Paul initially doesn't seem to give it any weight, she soon begins to investigate. In the meantime, Shawn decides that the time has finally come to act and implement his plan to make Lauren his own. He decides to act by eliminating one by one all the obstacles that stand in his way, starting with the figure of Danny. Shawn thus begins to unconsciously drug Danny before concerts, where he is practically always in a state of confusion, compromising most of his concerts. Soon, then, Shawn switches to a powerful poison capable of altering his voice, then eliminating it altogether. It is then Shawn, at this point, to criticize Danny, starting to cultivate the idea in Lauren to pursue a solo career. Disappointed more and more by Danny, who can't explain what's happening to him, Lauren, on Shawn's advice, rejects an important exclusive record contract for a project with Danny and announces that she wants to start a solo career, leaving aside poor Danny, who is discouraged when he discovers he can't sing anymore. Despite everything, however, Lauren is sympathetic to Danny and promises to remain his friend, while Paul appears rather suspicious of the whole thing and finds what happened to Danny strange. Finally, Shawn has also tried to prevent Lauren's career from being overshadowed by another talented young singer, Farren Connor, who is thus sabotaged by Shawn himself.
