1981 (#2) - The rescue of Katherine and the Cuban revolutionary Felipe

While everyone in Genoa City mourns the disappearance of Katherine, and in the meantime begin to dispute her great inheritance, as happened in the past no one suspects that this time too the woman is alive. Throwing herself off the ship after learning of Derek's abandonment from their journey, Katherine wanders for a few days at sea before waking up unconscious on a seemingly uninhabited island. After a day living in fear and complete solitude, Katherine is found by a man who takes her as a prisoner. Initially Katherine thinks he is a savage, but soon realizes that the man is able to speak English because he is a Cuban revolutionary refugee in Jamaica. Katherine is initially frightened, being treated by Felipe Ramirez, this is the man's name, like a prisoner: he hates anyone coming from a rich and wealthy family, in fact, Felipe forces Katherine to work for him, cooking, cleaning and tutoring him in English. However, despite her hard life, Katherine soon began to see in the man's gestures the goodness and sweetness she had long sought in Derek or anyone else she had been with in recent years. Not much time passes, therefore, before Katherine falls in love with the man; happy also to have regained contact with nature and the simple but important things in life, the woman begins to think seriously about not returning to Genoa City and to forget everything she left behind in the United States.
