1978 (#6) - Linda's infatuation with Greg, the divorce with Larry and the departure

Snapper, after an interview with Larry, informs Greg that the fact Linda is working at his firm is causing problems in Linda and Larry's marriage. The woman, in fact, seems to have feelings for Greg, and this creates tensions in the relationship with Larry, increasingly worried and jealous of his wife, to the point of having asked her to quit despite their financial problems. Snapper therefore advises to end the working relationship; and Greg, not wanting to be responsible for the destruction of that marriage, has no choice but to follow Snapper's advice. Linda thus finds herself out of work again, but this period of unemployment has its advantages, since it forces the woman to think about herself and her life. The woman, thanks in part to the help of her best friend Beth Walsh, understands that Larry is not to blame if their marriage doesn't work out; and rather than blaming her husband for their problems, Linda understands that she is the one who is unfit to live the married relationship. She, who had grown up with the myth of a romantic marriage, only realizes that she was naive and made a mistake by getting married too soon. Now, however, Linda is more determined than ever to start all over again, alone. As Larry listen to Linda's words, Larry is shocked and cannot believe when Linda asks him for a divorce, despite the presence of his two sons Pete and Harry. In the end, Larry agrees to begin divorce proceedings, with the agreement that Larry will have custody of their children. As for Linda, after trying unsuccessfully to get rehired by Greg, she decides to leave town.
