1978 (#2) - Lucas' support and Vanessa's plastic surgery operation

Lucas' return to the Prentiss family is welcomed with great happiness by all, especially Vanessa. The woman knew perfectly well that her son had left voluntarily because of guilt for setting the fire that destroyed their family and Vanessa's face, although unintentionally. In a moving embrace, Lucas asks his mother for forgiveness, confessing that he can no longer hide from shame and that he wants to finally face what happened. It was Vanessa who comforted the son she had not seen for years, marveling at how he had become a man and suggesting that he should forget the past definitively, since Lucas should not feel responsible for what had happened. It is Lucas, then, who understands that the only real way to overcome the sad events that have happened is to remove the scars from Vanessa's face. Initially the woman refuses, also recalling Lorie's accusations of some time before, but in the end she accepts Lucas' prayers, which also convinces his mother to look at Lorie in a different perspective. Indeed, Vanessa knows that she owes her reunion with her son exclusively to the woman, the one who has long been her bitter enemy.
