1976 (#3) - Lorie finds about her real father and the encounter with Mark in Cleveland

A depressed Lorie constantly rethinks her story with Mark and the boy's incomprehensible decision to end it all for no apparent reason. Unable to give an explanation, Lorie is unable to forget Mark and constantly professes that she wants to change her philosophy of life, dedicating herself, from now on, selfishly only to herself without thinking about the implications of her choices towards others. Brock, meanwhile, offers him all her friendship, trying to console her and make her smile again without looking at everything in a pessimistic way. The break-up with Lorie and Mark's escape, however, also arouse considerable suspicion in Brad, who finds the boy's behaviour completely irrational. Brad then slowly starts to put the pieces of the puzzle back together again, starting from Mark's request to have Lorie take a blood test and from the moment everything seems to have started, the night Mark took care of Jennifer. So Brad goes to the hospital to talk to Jennifer and finally, realizing that the man is now close to the truth, she confesses everything. What Jennifer doesn't know is that Lorie overheard part of her conversation with Brad, and after asking the man for explanations, she understands, not without shock, the whole truth. Lorie, incredulous, angry and completely shocked, yells at her mother for always hiding the whole truth from her, and runs to Mark. Eventually, after some research, Lorie manages to find Mark in a clinic near Cleveland. The two of them look at each other and hug, then Lorie, overcome with emotion, proposes to Mark to ignore the blood ties and to run away together. Mark, however, tries to make her sister desist from her intentions, making her understand that it would never work, as this would not be in accordance with either the laws of nature or those of God. In the end, a desperate Lorie feels better and is comforted by Mark, who tells the woman that they will be united forever, before hugging each other and telling each other it is better for both of them not to see each other anymore. The two say goodbye and a more fragile but mature Lorie returns to Genoa City.
